It’s been an interesting year to be a Travis Scott fan; while La Flame has dropped a handful of slappers featuring top-shelf production and features from notable contemporaries such as Young Thug and Future, the repeated delay of his debut record, Rodeo, has found listeners’ impatience at an all time high. Originally scheduled to hit stores in March, the record was pushed back multiple times before Scott finally confirmed a September 4 release date. While #travishive is rightfully buzzing over the confirmation, average listeners might wonder what makes Rodeo worth the wait. Thus, we’ve compiled a list of five reasons why all hip-hop fans should be chomping at the bit to get their ticket to the rodeo. Hit the jump below to get started!

Mamby on the Beach is just a couple weeks away, and like real estate, it’s all about location, location, location! Grant Park is cool and all but this year a Chicago music festival is inviting some big artists to the Windy City’s scenic Oakwood Beach on July 11th and 12th (get your tickets here). Is it December yet? Not that we miss the cold weather, but we definitely miss making Year-End Lists! So in anticipation of our future and complete best verses of 2015 list, we had one of our writers make up a list of his 10 favorite verses of 2015 (so far). Remember, it’s just one writer that’s getting our future list started, and spoiler alert there is no Kendrick Lamar on our first draft. Either way, it goes to show how good 2015 has been so far, and with some of the year’s most anticipated albums still to come (i.e. So Help Me God), we can’t even imagine what our list will look like come December!

Feel free to let us know how we should adjust our rap verse power rankings, on Twitter (@TheEarlyReg).

We just got back from Coachella, and already we are getting excited to travel to our next music festival. While the next fest on our radar is definitely on a smaller scale, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Ever since the 2013 announcement of Madison, Wisconsin’s Revelry Music & Arts Festival, I have been a fan. For years the live artist recruiting by the University of Wisconsin was disappointing, and this is coming from a Badger of seven long years. Revelry changed that, balancing a student-run organization’s budget by drawing in some of the biggest emerging names across several different genres. And now that I have since graduated, I am excited to return as a photographer and journalist. Continue reading Revelry Music & Arts Festival: A 2015 Artists Guide
