We just got back from Lollapalooza 2015 and our second year at Chicago’s premiere music festival was as great as the first! Although a storm brought a brief evacuation to the Windy City festival, no performances where cancelled and fans saw some great sets from Sam Smith, Paul McCartney, The Weeknd, Metallica, A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott (before he was arrested), Logic, Tyler the Creator, Marina and the Diamonds, George Ezra, and many many more.
One of our favorite things about Lollapalooza is its aftershows. The aftershows not only allow fans who weren’t able to score wristbands to the actual festival to also see some great sets, but it showcases the beautiful intimate local venues (Aragon, The Mid, The Riviera and more) of our nation’s Second City, Chicago. This year’s Lollapalooza Aftershows are just as great as ever, with a number of performances that we recommend catching. Performing official Lollapalooza Aftershows this year are Alesso, Tove Lo, Gary Clark Jr., The War on Drugs, Glass Animals, alt-J, SZA, Mick Jenkins, Marina and the Diamonds, Logic and many more!
Last Sunday wrapped up our amazing experience during our first year at Coachella. The weekend was surreal, as music fans saw performances from Drake, Lil B, The Weeknd, Tyler the Creator, Toro y Moi, Action Bronson, Raekwon & Ghostface Killah, Vic Mensa, Run The Jewels and many more! While we posted a small selection of our favorite photos last weekend, to share our experience with our readers, we will be posting new photo galleries from Coachella EVERY DAY FOR THE NEXT MONTH. We saw over 30 great performances this past weekend and we will share our collection of photos of each until we run out!
Check out our twelfth Coachella Photo Series, of Marina and the Diamonds’ Weekend One performance, below.
Just like the rest of the weekend, the end of Coachella’s first weekend definitely did not disappoint. We caught a lot of great sets and of course got a ton of great shots of some of your favorite artists. Sunday fans saw amazing performances from Drake, St. Vincent, Florence + the Machine, Mac DeMarco, Marina and the Diamonds, Angel Olsen, Ryan Adams and more! Drake made out with Madonna! St. Vincent channeled her inner-David Bowie! Florence showed Indio why she is a great score for any major music festival! If you didn’t make it to Coachella this past weekend, and you aren’t going next weekend, you certainly missed out.
This year, March was jam packed with great releases, including a few surprise albums, from a variety of artists. March saw the release of King Kendrick Lamar’s highly anticipated sophomore album, To Pimp a Butterfly. We also were blessed with a brand new surprise album from Odd Future’s Earl Sweatshirt, with I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside. The month of March also saw a number of great indie releases, all helping 2015 continue its musical domination over 2014. Hit the jump and check out some of the best releases the month of March had to offer.
