This month we wrapped up our second straight year at Lollapalooza. And while we already shared some of our favorite moments from the Windy City festival, we wanted to share more photos of some of our favorite performers at Lolla this year. In total we saw a number of great performances from The Weeknd, Sam Smith, Metallica, Kid Cudi, Paul McCartney, A$AP Rocky ,Tyler the Creator and Marina and the Diamonds, just to name a few.
Check out our eleventh Lollapalooza Photo Series piece of SZA’s performance.
One of our favorite things about Lollapalooza is its aftershows. The aftershows not only allow fans who weren’t able to score wristbands to the actual festival to also see some great sets, but it showcases the beautiful intimate local venues (Aragon, The Mid, The Riviera and more) of our nation’s Second City, Chicago. This year’s Lollapalooza Aftershows are just as great as ever, with a number of performances that we recommend catching. Performing official Lollapalooza Aftershows this year are Alesso, Tove Lo, Gary Clark Jr., The War on Drugs, Glass Animals, alt-J, SZA, Mick Jenkins, Marina and the Diamonds, Logic and many more!
Last night singer Jhene Aiko performed at Chicago’s legendary House of Blues, accompanied by Odd Future‘s The Internet and TDE‘s SZA as part of her Enter The Void Tour. Jhene performed a beautiful set for the sold-out crowd, closed by her Sail Out single ‘The Worst’. Coming off a recent Grammy nomination for her debut album Souled Out, Jhene is definitely having one of the best years in R&B. Check out our photos below!
Ferg’s long awaited debut solo mixtape is finally here. The Gangsta Grillz project contains 19 tracks and is hosted by DJ Drama. Big Sean, SZA, YG, Twista, M.I.A., Crystal Caines, and more are featured on the tape and production comes Big K.R.I.T., Clams Casino, and more!
Top Dawg Entertainment‘s SZA shares her new track ‘Sobriety’ which features a slew of producers (Chris Calor, Cody, Thundercat, LoveDragon, and Sounwave). In the track SZA beautifully sings about breakups and how they put her sobriety under question, showing that TDE is about much more than just West Coast rap. You can catch her on tour with The Internet for Jhene Aiko’s upcoming Enter The Void tour this December.
