The Top 10 Releases of March 2015

10. Twin Shadow – Eclipse

George Lewis Jr. (aka “Twin Shadow”) gave fans his third album in five years, with his new LP Eclipse. The American indie pop singer sought out to make a more approachable (and less elitist) album with his major label (Warner) debut, and while Twin Shadow’s music does not sound like any other specific artist nor cater to a specific crowd, Eclipse did just that. This album, like the others, still has the unique Twin Shadow sound but Eclipse differs from his previous LPs in many ways. For instance, the use of guitar is very minimal on Eclipse, a conscious decision by Twin Shadow. Also this album seems more scattered and more “all-over” than the rest, but not necessarily in a bad way. Time may need to pass before deciding how this project ranks with the others, but Eclipse is certainly one of the best releases of the month.
