Seven years ago, Bridgeview, IL started trying to move people out of lengthy haunted house lines and into bass and treble filled concert venues in Chicago. Something worked. What started as a generally modest concert idea has transformed into a weekend that should be on any music fan’s radar. Three days that must’ve come into contact with some sort of space-time-continuum allowing for over 75 artists to take the stages. Oh yea and it’s on Halloween weekend: October 30th – November 1st. The only seemingly possibly way to not enjoy the weekend is to not be there. To start picking and choosing the best artists making an appearance would be an exercise in futility so instead, hit the jump for our list of artists we are most excited for. And don’t wait until the fall, get your tickets now while you still can!
Who ever said that music festival season has to end in the summer? Well now it doesn’t have to as Chicago’s “Freaky Deaky” festival has announced its 2015 lineup and a huge expansion. Taking place on Halloween weekend, October 30 – November 1, Freaky Deaky will now be a weekend long event and at a brand new location (Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL). And it would be all for nothing if the festival wasn’t stepping up its entertainment as well. This year Freaky Deaky goers will see performances from Bassnectar, Armin Van Buuren, Pretty Lights, 2 Chainz, Logic, Vic Mensa, Flying Lotus, Mac Miller, Action Bronson, Big Gigantic, Alunageorge, Griz and many many more! New York rapper Action Bronson found himself in headlines today as Wu Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah posted a video, sending serious threats to Action, due to Action’s recentESPN appearance. During the appearance, Action’s music was compared to Ghostface, when Action replied that “(Ghostface) isn’t rapping like this no more.” No only did Ghostface not take kindly to being called washed up, but he reallllllly didn’t take kindly. After letting some time pass, Ghostface Killah’s video sent death threats Action’s way, reminding the Mr. Wonderful rapper that he has shooters in all states, that he knows Action’s tour schedule, and that he has guys that can make people “disappear”. While Action was taking shots at a legend, he had a point, and it definitely didn’t warrant death threats or even a response from Ghost.
Although Action Bronson promptly went on an apology campaign on Twitter after the threats, his right hand man, friend, and “cousin by association” Big Body Bes did not appreciate the threats against Action. Although he wasn’t directly referring to Ghostface, with Action’s safety arguably in question today, Bes tweeted a general statement about his commitment to defend and protect his good friend. “THEY DONT MAKE WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE ACTS OF VIOLENCE I WILL COMMIT TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF @ActionBronson,” Bes tweeted. And if Ghostface really does have shooters in every state, Big Body Bes is coming prepared!
