Things got real awkward last year when old tweets from OVO Sound’s newest artist iLoveMakonnen were revealed. The tweets, which were allegedly sent from Makonnen himself, dissed Drake, calling him “corny” and comparing the rapper’s appearance to Elmo. Although Drake has not dropped Makonnen from OVO, he did throw shots at the ‘Tuesday’ rapper/singer in his new If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late mixtape. In order to keep his contract though, last night Drake brought out iLoveMakonnen, forcing him to live tweet during Drake’s Coachella performance. The tweets, which were broadcasted on a video screen behind Drake for all to see, praised Drizzy’s performance. “Elmo wishes he was half the performer that Drake was. #IfHeDiedHe’sALegend.” tweeted Makonnen. Worrying that not tweeting enough would lead to him being dropped, Makonnen “@ mentioned” Drake so many times that he was sent to “Twitter jail” half-way through Drake’s performance of ‘Best I Ever Had’. This marks the second time Makonnen faced jail time, as a result of him taking shots that he claimed were unintentional.
