SAVEMONEY rapper and Chicago’s own, Towkio, surprised many with his awesome 2015 project, .Wav Theory, but the emerging rapper is already on to the next one as he recruited his friend and long-time collaborator Vic Mensa for his new record, ‘G W M’. Short for “gang with me”, ‘G W M’ isn’t a gang banging street record, rather it’s a fun Mr. Carmack and Kenny Segal produced track where Towkio raps about his whole squad, which as many know includes Vic, Chance The Rapper and many more. SAVEMONEY isn’t your average rap collective, and Towkio’s new track definitely helps show that.

Vic Mensa Takes Shots at Drake on His New Song “Danger”

Minutes ago Vic Mensa shared his new Papa Beatz produced record ‘Danger’, which Mensa originally previewed for fans at Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo album streaming event at Madison Square Garden. While the track is fire, it will surely get a lot of attention due to lyrics aimed directly at the 6 God himself, Drake. In ‘Danger’ Mensa raps,

“I don’t like the way that n*ggas talkin’ like they bulletproof, till they gotta find out what a bullet do. Catch 2 in ya Canada Goose, it’ll turn a n*gga into proof.”

Referencing Drake’s collaboration with the brand Canada Goose, Mensa sent some pretty obvious subliminals Drake’s way, essentially warning Drake that he’ll catch a bullet if he keeps acting the way he does. It will certainly be interesting to see if Drake decides to respond, but if so, don’t expect Vic to catch as many Ls as Meek Mill.

The 20 Best Concert Tours of 2015

BY TER STAFF

Best Tours

2015 saw a lot of great concert tours, from J. Cole’s Forest Hills Drive Tour with Big Sean, YG and Jeremih to Taylor Swift’s huge 1989 World Tour. Some tours sold out stadiums and arenas, selling out the entire tour before it even begun, and some tours were in small intimate venues, either strategically or because simple supply and demand. Some had stacked lineups top to bottom and some introduced us to a lot of great new artists. Festivals like Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and Coachella were bigger than ever this year, but that didn’t stop your favorite artists from building up some great shows of their own.

Vic Mensa Involved in Mass Fight Between Chicago Police Officers and Protesters Over Death of Laquan McDonald

The city of Chicago is rightfully outraged tonight as graphic footage was released of the death of Laquan McDonald, who was brutally killed by a Chicago police officer. While this alone is reason for many to be applauded, the officer who shot McDonald, who has since been charged with murder, shot the 17-year old a total of 16 times in the incident.

In a video captured by CBS, a scuffle breaks out between protesters and Chicago police officers. While he certainly isn’t shown doing anything wrong, one notable person involved in the middle of the fight is Chicago’s own, rapper Vic Mensa, who can be seen towards the end of the video. Tensions are very high in Chicago right now, and knowing how active Vic is in his city and the Black Lives Matter movement, his involvement is not unexpected.

Throughout the night only one arrest was made during the protests. Community activist, Malcolm London, was arrested after police say he punched an officer. The activist, who runs Chance The Rapper’s “Open Mike” events in Chicago was charged with a felony, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Watch the video of the incident, courtesy of CBS, below.

Earlier this week, Vic Mensa took to social media to tease a forthcoming collaboration with producer Young Chop, known most for his production on Chief Keef’s Chi-town banger ‘I Don’t Like’, which was later remixed by Kanye West and played a huge role in shaping Chicago’s drill sound. Now today we have the Chicago collab, as Chop recruited Vic and King100James for his ‘Around My Way’ track from his new Finally Rich Too project, which released a few hours ago via iTunes and Soundcloud

“I don’t where ya’ll from, I’m right here. From them South Side of Chicago streets turn dreams to a nightmare,” raps Mensa on ‘Around My Way’.
