The world tragically lost one of its favorite actors and comedians yesterday, a void that can never be filled. With classic films like Good Will Hunting, Patch Adams, Dead Poets Society, Mrs. Doubtfire and many others, we will never forget Robin Williams. To keep the memory alive we have compiled a list with ten of the best moments were rappers paid homage and reference to the comedy legend that is Robin Williams.
Even if you do not know the name, you certainly know Martin Garrix. In fact, you are probably one of his over 300,000,000 views on his video for his song ‘Animals’ on YouTube, uploaded just a year ago. At only 18-years-old Martin Garrix is tearing up the festival scene and quickly rising to be one of the world’s top DJ/producers, and just last week I was able to sit down with him for an interview at Lollapalooza.
This was our first year at Lollapalooza and it was better than we ever imagined! While on-site we talked to some amazing artists and captured some great shots along the way. Check out our best photos below, shot by The Early Registration’s Dan Garcia.

Over this past weekend, I had the amazing opportunity to shoot at Lollapalooza for the amazing music website Pigeons & Planes. A summer festival that seems to always attract the rain, we got some very amazing crowd shots throughout the weekend at Lolla. Check out the jump for more crowd shots and be sure to check out the entire piece at Pigeons.
I am about to make the unpopular argument, that even Kanye himself will not say, as it would multiply his cocky arrogant reputation ten fold. In this piece, and The Early Registration’s first ‘Making The Case’ feature, I will make the argument that Kanye West is the greatest rapper of all time.
Out of no-where, Weird Al has became a household name again, in less than a week. Potentially under the radar of the younger generation, Weird Al may be reclaiming his spot as the best in comedy music. The Lonely Island needs to take note.
While everyone knows that Drake used to be Degrassi’s Jimmy or Childish Gambino played Community’s Troy for several seasons, there are many musicians today that had more subtle and brief appearances on movie and television before their musical success.
With a diverse staff of different ages, tastes in music, and locations around the country and the world, the staff here at The Early Registration has seen its fair share of great shows, and even some embarrassing ones (spoiler alert: The Spice Girls). We have thus compiled a list of the greatest shows our staff has experienced, with concerts ranging from Frank Ocean at New York’s Terminal 5 to Kanye West’s homecoming show for the Yeezus Tour in the house that Jordan built.
Earlier this week, I received my credentials to do photography for the great people at Pigeons & Planes at Lollapalooza this year. In anticipation of the great opportunity I have compiled a list of the acts we at The Early Registration, are most excited to see.
