Last night rapper Lil Dicky brought the spring leg of his Professional Rapper tour to the Majetic Theatre in Madison, WI. Performing his early tracks like ‘Ex-Boyfriend’ and ‘White Dude’ from his So Hard mixtape, LD also performed a brand new track and his newest singles ‘White Crime’ and ‘Lemme Freak’. Dicky described his previous performance in Mad-Town as his best to date (“and it’s not even close”), and the sold-out crowd matched Lil Dicky’s energy all night, just an hour after Frank “The Tank” Kaminsky (a fan of LD) and the Wisconsin Badgers beat Coastal Carolina in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. Check out our photos below, as The Early Registration was there to catch the best moments of the night, and if LD is coming to a city near you, do not miss out.

Check out Chance the Rapper and Colin Tilley‘s film debut, titled “Mr. Happy”. In the Tilley directed short, Chance the Rapper plays a depressed man Victor, who discovers a MrHappy.com website where he can hire a hitman to kill him. Speaking with VICE, Tilley said “Chance is like one of the most down to earth people I’ve ever met and right away I was like, ‘This dude is really special.’ We talked about film and he was telling me how he wanted to get more involved in it.” Good thing they got together, because you can watch their new short film below. It gets depressing at times (but that’s the point), so be warned. Ever since Outkast’s “Idlewild”, it has been hard to see one of your favorite rappers contemplate suicide on film. Only time will tell if this leads to Chance dipping his toes into more acting in the future.

In a new interview with MTV, G.O.O.D. Music rapper Travis Scott covered a number of topics including his Rodeo Tour, working with Kanye West and Drake, Kid Cudi, his comments about J. Cole and Chance the Rapper, and his forthcoming debut album. Speaking on his Rodeo Tour and when he told fans to get hype, reminding them that his show isn’t a J. Cole or Chance the Rapper concert, Travis told MTV that there was no disrespect meant towards either but his show is different and like a “real life circus”.

And fans who have caught the circus can get excited for La Flame’s upcoming debut album, Rodeo. Scott specifically took time to talk about the unique release method of his upcoming album (and no it won’t be a “surprise album”), “the way I’m dropping the album this year, is different than others.” He said though that he won’t drop his album until there is a Kid Cudi collaboration (the two have been in the studio together though). Another treat from the interview, speaking on Kanye West’s new album, is that ‘All Day’ is nowhere near the hardest banger on the album. So get excited for Ye’s new album, Mr. Solo Dolo meets La Flame, and check out the full interview below.

No SXSW for Mr. West, as Jimmy Kimmel announced Wednesday that Kanye West canceled his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week. “Willie Nelson will be here in studio with us,”Kimmel said of Friday night’s show. “Kanye West was supposed to be here, too but he canceled, or maybe he’s planning to jump on stage unexpectedly to interrupt Willie. So if you do not like Kanye West, make sure to tune in Friday night to not see him.” We guess Jimmy didn’t take the cancellation too well. Not only is Kanye no longer appearing on Kimmel this Friday, but while he also was originally rumored to perform at Stubb’s 2015 South by Southwest party this year, new rumors suggest that this surprise appearance will not happen as well. While we have no idea what these cancellations mean, let’s be optimistic that it means Kanye’s forthcoming So Help Me God album is coming soon.

J. Cole Changes His “Fire Squad” Lyrics Towards Iggy Azalea During Forest Hills Drive Tour

Currently on his Forest Hills Drive Tour, in promotion of his latest album 2014 Forest Hills Drive, J. Cole has changed the lyrics to one of the album’s stand out tracks, ‘Fire Squad’. In the track, speaking on the white takeover of hip-hop, Cole originally raps:

“Same thing that my n*gga Elvis did with Rock n Roll, Justin Timberlake, Eminem, and Macklemore. While silly n*ggas argue over who gon’ snatch the crown. Look around, my n*gga, white people have snatched the sound. This year I’ll prolly go to the awards dappered down, watch Iggy (Azalea) win a Grammy as I try to crack a smile.”

Updating the lyrics for his live performance, Cole now spits “This year I’ll prolly go to the awards dappered down, watch Iggy lose a Grammy as n*gga cracks a smile.” A small change and not much more of a shot at Iggy than the lyric already was, but Cole has to keep his raps current, right? And don’t forget Eminem (who Cole also accuses of stealing black peoples’ sound) still did win the Grammy this year (better than Iggy though). Watch a video of Cole’s ‘Fire Squad’ performance below, and see the crowd get hyped over the lyric switch. Also be sure to catch J. Cole on tour all this spring and summer.
