Listen as Israeli DJ/Producer Borgore teams up with Bay Area rapper, G-Eazy, for their new record, ‘Forbes’. Set to appear on Borgore’s forthcoming EP, which will release on his Buygore Records, the new track is produced by Borgore and Styles & Complete. A trap beat with G-Eazy’s vocals, this is an awesome and unexpected collaboration to combine the Bay with the Israeli dance music scene, just before Borgore embarks on his upcoming U.S. tour.
Last year’s inaugural AAHH! Fest rivaled all other Chicago music festivals in just one day. Taking place at Union Park, the same grounds as Pitchfork and North Coast, the music festival (led by Chicago’s own, rapper Common) saw performances from Kanye West, Common, Lupe Fiasco, Twista, Dave Chappelle, Jay Electronica, Jennifer Hudson, De La Soul, MC Lyte, Lil Herb, Diggy Simmon and a huge community showcase hosted by Kanye’s foundation, Donda’s House. Unfortunately though, if you are excited to see how the exciting new festival tops itself this year, you can’t.
Citing a “very demanding year”, the new festival has cancelled its 2015 festival and hopes to return again in 2016. Festival organizers want to “wait and do it right,” Common told Chicago Magazine. “Because the first one was so great, we know the next one we do has to be great. And we just felt this year we didn’t have all the tools or things we wanted to make it as dope as it could be.” It is uncertain whether the festival and its affiliates experienced budget problems for bringing the festival back, but we are hopeful that AAHH! Fest will return next year.
While we wait for AAHH! Fest 2016, enjoy some of our photos and footage from last year’s event.
Earlier this year we premiered Bloque’s records ‘Chains‘ & ‘Purple‘, and today we have another premiere from the U.K. artist/producer, this time in support of his forthcoming mixtape, HAYAMI. Titled ‘Megan’, the new record gives people a window into the life of the emerging rapper. “Megan is the name of my car (laughs), but the song ‘Megan’ is really just a glimpse of my life, giving people an insight on where I come from,” Bloque told us. The lyrics keep with the record’s theme, taking listeners shotgun on a drive with Bloque. And if you like the production on this one, which is produced by StaticBeatz and BarNone, the two combined for another four tracks on Bloque’s upcoming project.
“Deep in the cut with no windows, hundred miles down on the ring road.”
Take a ride with Bloque on his new track ‘Megan’ below, and look out for his HAYAMI mixtape tomorrow!
Listen as Ju recruits Milwaukee’s WebsterX for his new single, ‘BURGUNDY’. The record is produced by Jae Genius and you can find it on Ju’s forthcoming project, THE CAGE EP, (released date TBD). The two work great on the track together, as it showcases the growing talent from both of the MCs. WebsterX is Milwaukee’s biggest emerging name in a long time, and as the ‘Latley’ rapper continues to land features and gigs, his notoriety in the rap game is only going to skyrocket.
