Summerfest Day 2 in Photos: Kings of Leon, Public Enemy, Gary Clark Jr., KONGOS

Yesterday kicked off the second day Milwaukee’s Summerfest 2015, the World’s Largest Music Festival. Unlike many other premiere music festivals, Summerfest (which runs until July 5th) brings an especially diverse list of performers to Milwaukee’s lakefront every year, creating for a festival where you can see Kanye West (who performed in 2011) share the same stage as Peter Gabriel and Kid Rock. So to get things started for The Early Registration’s first year at Summerfest, we had to catch a wide variety of acts all festival long.

Summerfest Day 1 in Photos: Florida Georgia Line, Bastille, Magic!

Yesterday kicked off the 48th Anniversary of Milwaukee’s Summerfest, the World’s Largest Music Festival. Unlike many other premiere music festivals, Summerfest (which runs until July 5th) brings an especially diverse list of performers to Milwaukee’s lakefront every year, creating for a festival where you can see Kanye West (who performed in 2011) share the same stage as Peter Gabriel and Kid Rock. So to get things started for The Early Registration’s first year at Summerfest, we had to catch a wide variety of acts on day one!

We just got back from Bonnaroo 2015 and wow did our first year at The Farm not disappoint! Fans not only saw performances from some of music’s biggest names, like Kendrick Lamar and Mumford & Sons, but Manchester, TN also saw sets from some amazing emerging artists (Raury, Sylvan Esso) and even a few surprises (Jon Hamm and Zach Galifiankis?!). From Childish Gambino to the Piano Man, Bonnaroo had something for everyone this year.

Big Sean Performs at The Rave with Casey Veggies and King Louie

Last night G.O.O.D. Music’s Big Sean brought his 2015 tour to The Rave in Milwaukee, WI. Performing a number of tracks off his latest Dark Sky Paradise album (check out our review here) as well as a catalog of his best hits and verses, Big Sean instantly got the crowd hyped as he opened to his extended version of his ‘Paradise’ record.

“Was up in Florida, no Marlins, n*gga. I’m that Shawn, no Marlon, n*gga.”

And with an energetic opening performance from ‘Backflip’ rapper Casey Veggies, who will see the release of his debut album later this year, and a surprise performance by Chicago’s King Louie (and even an appearance by 1/2 of the production duo, Da Internz), Milwaukee fans definitely got their money’s worth last night.

Photos: iLoveMakonnen Performs at The Metro in Chicago

Last night, OVO Sound‘s iLoveMakonnen rapped for a packed Chicago crowd at The Metro. Performing his hit song ‘Tuesday’, as well as a number of his Drink More Water tracks, Makonnen definitely delivered. Chicago fans also saw a great opening performance from Atlanta rapper, Key!, as well as a DJ set from Makonnen’s producer, Sonny Digital. Don’t miss Makonnen as he comes back to Chicago this summer for the Pitchfork Music Festival.
