Andre 3000, the Grammy Award-winning artist renowned for his work with the hip-hop duo OutKast, has announced his eagerly anticipated “New Blue Sun Live” tour. This tour is in support of his debut solo album, “New Blue Sun,” which made waves upon its release in November of the previous year. The album is notable for its opening track, “I Swear, I Really Wanted to Make a ‘Rap’ Album but This Is Literally the Way the Wind Blew Me This Time,” which achieved a historic feat by becoming the longest-ever track to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The “New Blue Sun Live” tour is set to commence on January 29 at Crown Hill Theatre in Brooklyn, New York, and will include a three-day residency at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City. The tour will visit several major cities including Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, and San Francisco, concluding with a five-night stint at The Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles from March 5 to March 9.

Andre 3000 will be joined by a talented ensemble of musicians, including Nate Mercereau, Surya Botofasina, Deantoni Parks, Diego Gaeta, Matthewdavid, V.C.R, Jesse Peterson, and Mia Doi Todd. In his recent feature with GQ, Chicago’s Chance the Rapper spilled some awesome details about his debut LP. When speaking about Chance’s debut LP’s guest features, GQ’s Byard Duncan writes “His subsequent guest appearances—nasally breathless, startlingly precocious—gained the attention of artists like Frank Ocean, J. Cole, and André 3000, all of whom will appear on his yet to be named debut LP.” If we weren’t already, this definitely has us hype for Chance’s debut album, especially since his last mixtape Acid Rap was critically acclaimed and an excellent follow-up to his 10 Day project.
