Following the news of Jon Bellion’s new tour, it looks like a second 2015 rap tour will be kicking off in Chicago’s brother to the north (aka Milwaukee), as Migos just announced their headlining “Young Rich Nation” tour. The Atlanta rap trio will be joined by ‘U Guessted It’ rapper OG Maco, and it will kick off at The Rave in Milwaukee on May 1st and will run through the end of the month. Hitting stops in Detroit, New York, Boston, California and more, the ‘Versace’ rappers won’t be stopping in Chicago, but this is still a tour you will not want to miss.
Fans of singer-songwriter/rapper Jon Bellion will be happy to learn that the Logic-affiliated rapper has just announced his new 2015 headlining tour, and he even dropped a new song to go with it. “The Definition Tour” (named after his 2014 project) will kick off on May 26th at The Rave in Milwaukee and will run through July, where it returns to the Midwest for stops in Detroit and Chicago.
If a new tour wasn’t enough, Bellion also released his new music festival inspired track ‘Woodstock’, featuring additional vocals from Travis Mendes. Bellion describes the track as a “psychedelic musical fiction”, and fans can definitely expect to hear it live this summer.
Check out the tour dates and listen to ‘Woodstock (Psychedelic Fiction)’ below!
Yesterdau, Jay-Z’s new artist-owned streaming service TIDAL held a huge press conference with a lot of star-power. TIDAL describes itself as “the first music streaming service that combines the best High Fidelity sound quality, High Definition music videos and expertly Curated Editorial.” In attendance for the press conference was Jay-Z, Beyonce, Kanye West, Jack White, Daft Punk, and Rihanna (just to name a few). Seeing so many great artists team up for one common goal, we couldn’t help but be reminded of the artists in the room that have made great music together in the past.
Of course Jay-Z has made a plethora of hits with friend Kanye West and wife Beyonce, but a lot of the collaborations in the room are maybe under your radar. So we took the liberty of creating a huge flowchart and guide to help you follow. Check out our flowchart above and hit the jump for a complete guide to learn which TIDAL artists/owners have worked together in the past.
Nardwaur the Human Serviette’s string of SXSW interviews continues this week as he just released his new interview with producer Mike Will Made-It. Nardwuar (as always) brings out the best of the artists with his one-of-a-kind interviews, and not only does he bring a number of records for Mike, the interview even ends with Mike Will Made-It kind of suplexing Nardwuar (all in good fun though).

Jay-Z’s new music streaming service “TIDAL”, is coming with a huge announcement in just 16 hours from now (at 4:00 PM Central), and Hov may have something big in-store. Correction… Hov WILL have something big in-store, it is just a matter of what. Tidal is described as “the first music streaming service that combines the best High Fidelity sound quality, High Definition music videos and expertly Curated Editorial,” and we will certainly know more in less than a day’s time.
One reasonable theory with a bit of supportis that Kanye West’s highly anticipated forthcoming album, So Help Me God, will be released exclusively through TIDAL. Not only are Kanye and Jay close friends and long-time collaborators, but Kanye is rumored to have a 3% stake in the new service. And how could Kanye help out his big brother and make himself a lot of money at the same time? By a surprise release of his 7th studio album to support TIDAL’s launch, an album that is has been closed to finished for months. Finally, while Kanye could just be showing his support, his new tweet (below) and Twitter icon may foreshadow a surprise release. “Together, we can turn the tide and make music history. Start by turning your profile picture blue. #TIDALforALL”, tweeted Ye.
Very rarely does one listen to music from a local artist and end up being left surprised, enlightened and entertained. The surplus of Twitter rappers have created a cesspool in many a user’s mentions, and the idea of using social media to promote yourself to everyone within your reach has become less of a great tactic and more of a caricature. Cleveland rapper/singer/producer Tae Miles is only a few miles away from me, and I found his music through Twitter. After listening to him, I became entranced. He was one of the new guys that employed the Bone Thug cadence and delivery, but instead of biting it and letting St. Clair Avenue (a famous Cleveland street that Tae mentions on his latest single ‘Forfeit’) drip from his teeth, he transformed it into his own style, along with his other influences. He bleeds creative energy, charisma and humor in interviews. He has big aspirations and a clear vision, and he’s determined.
Last night we went to Earl Sweatshirt’s “Not Redy 2 Leave” Tour with Vince Staples and Remy Banks, at The Rave in Milwaukee. In addition to capturing some great photos of the energetic night, we had to get some great footage of the rappers as well. Watch our Milwaukee “Not Redy 2 Leave” tour recap video below.

Last night Odd Future’s Earl Sweatshirt brought the “Not Redy 2 Leave” Tour to The Rave in Milwaukee, WI. Kicking things off for the Wisconsin crowd was the talented Queens native, rapper Remy Banks. Performing a number of songs from his growing collection of tracks, the highlight of Banks’ set came with the drop of his new Left Brain produced and ‘C.R.E.A.M.’ inspired single, ‘.rem’. Following Banks’ energetic performance was Vince Staples, easily one of the most talented young lyricists who made quite a buzz last year with his Hell Can WaitEP. And soon after the Long Beach rapper’s performance of his ‘Blue Suede’ track, Staples brought out the man of the night, OFWKTA’s Earl Sweatshirt.
