Despite multiple reports, Drake’s ‘Back To Back’, a diss record aimed at MMG‘s Meek Mill, is NOT the first ever Grammy nominated diss record. In fact, there have been multiple diss tracks to receive Grammy nominations in the past, and surprisingly most are not rap songs! While some of the disses aren’t as direct as Drake’s ‘Back To Back’, from LL Cool J’s Kool Moe Dee diss to Justin Timberlake’s shots at Britney Spears with ‘Cry Me a River’, we compiled a list of some of our favorite Grammy nominated diss tracks, and some that even took home the trophy!

Check out some other great Grammy nominated diss records of the past below!

Adele Announces 2016 North American Tour

BY TER STAFF

Say hello and then goodbye to all those memes and complaints about Adele not touring! Kicking off in the summer of next year, Adele is going on a huge North American tour in support of her new album 25. Starting on July 5th in the Twin Cities, Adele will hit a number of stops (with multiple dates in many cities) until the tour finally concludes on November 15th in Mexico. Whether you live in Chicago,  Los Angeles, New York, Canada, wherever, there is a good chance that Adele is coming to a city near you. And don’t quote us, but you may even see Adele at a festival or two. For example, there is a good chance Adele could make an appearance at Summerfest in Milwaukee, the world’s biggest music festival, as there is an overlap between Summerfest’s schedule and her open dates when Adele is coming to Minnesota and Chicago.

No matter which city you catch the ‘Hello’ singer in, Adele is sure to do huge numbers and give one hell of a performance. Adele recently shattered records with her most recent LP, so don’t be surprised if her North American tour does the same. Tickets go on sale Thursday at Ticketmaster.com.

Check out the tour dates for Adele’s 2016 North American tour below!

Photos: B96 Pepsi Jingle Bash Brings Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes, 5SOS, Jason Derulo and More to Chicago

Last night B96 and Pepsi brought a star lineup to Chicago’s Allstate Arena in Rosement, IL with their Jingle Bash. Likely the warmest Jingle Bash on record, Chicago fans stayed warm while seeing a cast of great sets from Demi Lovato, 5 Seconds of Summer, Shawn Mendes, Omi, Pentatonix, Hailee Steinfeld and Jason Derulo. The holiday show had something for everyone, and no matter who you were there for, with such a stacked lineup, nearly every song performed last night in Rosemont was a hit.

5 Seconds of Summer kicked things off, performing some of their fan favorites like ‘What I Like About You’ and ‘She’s Kinda Hot’. Despite opening the Bash, the crowd was already filled up by the time 5SOS hit the stage and the screams could be heard from across the street. Following 5 Seconds of Summer were Omi and Hailee Steinfeld to perform their hit singles ‘Cheerleader’ and ‘I Love Myself’, among others. Next up was ‘Stiches’ signer Shawn Mendes and Pentatonix, arguably the biggest acapella group in the world. Both provided something different to the lineup, yet each similarly gave the crowd their money’s worth.

Finally to close the night were hour-long sets from Jason Derulo and Demi Lovato. Despite their extended headlining sets, with such talent from the singers, they performed hit record after hit record throughout the night. While the veterans and newcomers alike gave their all into their performances, the highlights of the night came from Derulo and Lovato’s energetic performances. Let’s hope next year’s Jingle Bash is both as warm and as great as it was in 2015.

Tonight Chance The Rapper will become the first ever independent artist to perform on NBC‘s Saturday Night Live, a huge accomplishment for any artist. While Chance fans cannot wait to see the Acid Rap rapper perform live, they may be in for another treat tonight as Chance sent out a possibly cryptic tweet in honor of tonight’s performance. “#acidrap brought Chicago, my fans and independents this far. #ChanceOnSNL #thirdmixtape” Chance wrote earlier today.

Considering 10 Day as Chance’s debut mixtape and his critically acclaimed Acid Rap as his second, Chance’s next tape will be his third. Is he hinting at a new mixtape coming tonight, in honor of his SNL performance? Many believed that Chance’s next project would be coming soon after his Family Matter Tours, so that puts us right in time… Chance The Rapper fans may be eating tonight!

Today we have the next track and self-directed video from G.O.O.D. Music’s newest signee, HXLT. Kanye’s newest artist, formerly under the name Hollywood Holt, has left us all wondering what his new sound would be like, and he gave us a great sample of that earlier this year with his ‘Live To Death’ record. This time around we have ‘Guitar’, a track centered around HXLT’s guitar playing aspirations. Whether he can play the guitar, the flute, the drums, the triangle or whatever, it doesn’t matter because Holt has one hell of a voice that continues to surprise us!

Former SOULECTION artist, Sam Gellaitry, has released a brand new EP under XL Recordings titled Escapism.  This 5-track project contains some of the most original ideas to come out of music in a while.  Escapism is incredibly diverse, sometimes giving bangers, other times giving movie score-esque music, and even adding some smooth jazz elements.  Stand out tracks include “Hyena” and “Dreamscapes”.  The project is available for purchase on iTunes.
