To say the least, Chaz Bundick had a busy 2015. In addition to his Les Sins project Michael, Chaz (Toro y Moi) released two new albums with What For? in April and Samantha in August. But that wasn’t everything apparently as Chaz upload four new previously unreleased tracks on his Soundcloud. We will say one thing about Chaz’s new track… even the man’s B-sides are better than many artist’s best tracks of 2015, and that says a lot!
Listen to Toro y Moi’s 4 new unreleased tracks below.
Run The Jewels 3, the next installment of Killer Mike and El’P’s “Run The Jewels” series, is still a ways away but that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited for it. While the anticipated project is still in its very early stages, El-P took to his Instagram to give fans an exclusive sneak preview of what the project will sound like. It isn’t much, but the untitled track sounds like it’s on its way to being another classic RTJ banger, and it gets us more than excited!
2015 isn’t quite yet over for Mac Miller, as the rapper gave fans a post-Christmas treat today by releasing a brand new track on his Soundcloud. The new record, titled ‘Vienna’, is a smoothing track from Miller and a great way for the GO:OD AM artist to close our the year. If this is a sample of what Mac’s 2016 will sound like, then we definitely are looking forward to it!
Rapper King Louie was shot in the head at 83rd and Pulaski in Chicago earlier today, a source from the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Sam Charles of the Chicago Sun-Times, writes that King Louie’s manager confirmed the reports and that despite being shot in the head, Louie is still alive and talking. We will keep you updated as we hear more news, but keep the rapper in your prayers and let’s hope for the best. Alive and talking or not, a shot to the head is more than serious.
G-Eazy shows fans that the rap life isn’t all gold, glitz & glory in his new animated music video for his When It’s Dark Out track, ‘Sad Boy’. With animation from Applebutter Animated and illustrations from Joonbug, the new visuals are definitely a different direction for G-Eazy’s new sophomore album, one of the best fourth quarter releases of 2015. Spending back-to-back weeks at #1 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop chart and Top Rap Albums chart, When It’s Dark Out has surprised many by moving 130,000 unit in its first week alone.
And if you want to hear tracks like ‘Sad Boy’ live, G will be kicking off his upcoming “When It’s Dark Out Tour” with rapper A$AP Ferg in just a couple weeks, as the tour opens up on January 6th in Portland.
Watch the official music video for ‘Sad Boy’ below.
You may not hear his name echoed as much as it was circa 2010, but Mike Posner has definitely had a great 2015. Totally reinventing his sound, Posner put out one hell of an EP with The Truth, he traveled across the country with his impromptu “Ninja Shows”, and he even received a Grammy nomination for his writing on Maroon 5’s ‘Sugar’, as record that Posner originally wrote for himself.
And although Posner’s comeback single, ‘I Took a Pill in Ibiza’, was released back in April of this year and some may have believed the shelf life for radio spins had since expired, it looks like the track is finally receiving the commercial success that it deserves. This past week (December 13-19), Posner’s ‘I Took a Pill in Ibiza’ finally crossed over into pop’s Top 100 most played songs of the week, ranking at #70.
While the record’s new success on pop radio is unexpected, it really shouldn’t be. Posner’s breakout single, ‘Cooler Than Me’ became the song of the summer in 2010, although it originally released with rapper Big Sean on Posner’s A Matter of Time mixtape in March of 2009, a year before taking over the pop airwaves. If ‘Pill’s’ current trend continues, working its way up week-by-week from its current spot on the charts, the single could definitely dominate 2016 similar to ‘Cooler Than Me’s’ commercial success over 5 years ago.
Lil B has made history today by becoming the first artist to cover a song so well that in doing so the song is now his, or at least that’s how he put it. Rapping over O.T. Genasis’ 2014 record ‘CoCo’, the BasedGod’s new track, titled ‘In Love With The BasedGod’ is so based and rare that “WOW COCO HIS SONG NOW”, according to the rapper’s YouTube.
If you’re a fan of the BasedGod, then this is the track for you. It’s the first new music that we’ve heard from Lil B in a bit now, and another record from his forthcoming andhighly anticipated Thugged Out Pissed Off mixtape.

Tonight Christmas came early for Milwaukee, Wisconsin as 103.7 KISS FM brought their annual “KISSmas Bash” to The Rave’s Eagles Ballroom. Following last year’s performance with rapper Wiz Khalifa, this year’s lineup rocked, and we mean that literally as All Time Low headlined the Bash with some amazing opening sets from American Authors and 3OH!3. With all three groups performing a collection of their biggest hits, with a few B-sides and covers sprinkled in, no fan left unhappy.
We must also say that the clothing choices by the bands were more than on point! 3OH!3’s Sean Foreman was rocking a killer Run The Jewels tee, with the rap duo’s classic logo, while All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth was hilariously sporting a One Direction cut off tee, which even had an “X” over former 1D member, Zayn Malik’s, face.

Last night iHeartRadio and 103.5 KISS FM brought the Jingle Ball Tourto Chicago’s Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL. With a sold out-crowd watching, some of the biggest names in music performed for the Windy City crowd on Wednesday night. Artists like Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas, 5 Seconds of Summer, Shawn Mendes, Tove Lo, Hailee Steinfeld, DNCE and (just to name a few) where there to give the packed arena a more than memorable show.
Fans did not waste any time showing up as ‘She’s Kinda Hot’ rockers, 5 Seconds of Summer kicked off the show. Soon after Chicago fans were treated to a beautiful performance from singer/songwriter Charlie Puth, who performed his Paul Walker dedicated track ‘See You Again’, as well as his Meghan Trainor collaboration, ‘Marvin Gaye’.
Next up was singer Conrad Sewell, still a new name to many, but who left a lot of concert goes impressed by his set. Known most for his single ‘Hold Me Up’, Conrad definitely held his own amongst the pop stars on the lineup. To up the energy though, Sewell was followed by newcomers DNCE, led by Joe Jonas. Out of all performances, no one met the fun energy that DNCE brought, especially during the highlight of their set when they performed their best known record, ‘Cake By The Ocean’.
Like Sewell, many may not have expected for R. City to put up one of the night’s best performances. Reminding everyone of their work with other artists, R. City told a moving story behind their Adam Levin-assisted single ‘Locked Away’, and in total put together an awesome set. Soon after R. City hopped off stage, singer Tove Lo put together a great performance of her own. While Tove Lo may be an indie artist on a pop lineup, her records have still dominated the radio, with the entire crowd knowing every word of Tove’s top tracks.

The screams may have been the loudest last night when singer Shawn Mendes hit the stage. While the singer got his initial fame through the phone app Vine, with the monster success of his single ‘Stiches’ (which can still be heard everywhere), Mendes is well on his way to becoming a household name. In the past year alone, Mendes has performed in Chicago a handful of times, including an opening set for Taylor Swift on her 1989 World Tour at Soldier Field. Then to close his set, Mendes invited Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cebello to perform their new single, ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’.
Shawn Mendes wasn’t the only Taylor Swift-associated artist on the lineup though, as next up was singer Hailee Steinfeld. You may know her from her acting (True Grit, Pitch Perfect 2) or even her appearance in T-Swift’s music video for ‘Bad Blood’, but if you don’t know her yet by her singer, you definitely will soon. Steinfeld’s record ‘I Love Myself’ is one of the funnest singles of the second half of 2015, and while she is still new to the game, you wouldn’t guess it by her stage presence.
Following Steinfeld was Fifth Harmony, as Camila Cabello returned to the stage after her huge performance with Mendes. Although Cebello and Mendes make a great team, she makes an even better one with the rest of the Fifth Harmony girls, first made famous on The X Factor. Ever since forming years ago in 2012, Fifth Harmony has consistently put out some big singles.
With the night beginning to wrap up, the energy and talent did not drop off as Selena Gomez hit the stage. Opening her set, mixing some of her new singles with the old (‘Same Old Love’ and ‘Love You Like a Love Song’), Gomez’s set was extended when compared to some of those before her, and rightfully so. While some of music’s biggest emerging names kicked off the show, it was only right that a superstar like Gomez get some extra time with the sold-out crowd.

To end the night was a headlining set from Nick Jonas. Providing a much different vibe than his brother Joe did earlier in the night, Jonas brought more than enough energy of his own, while reminding us of just how many hits he already has in his relatively young career as a solo artist. Performing a number of hits from his most recent album (his first in many years), including ‘Levels’ and ‘Chains’, Jonas certainly gave a memorable ending to the awesome night!
