10 Acts to Anticipate at FYF Fest 2014

BY DOMINIC BARICEVIC

It’s that time of year again. FYF Fest is happening this weekend in the city of sunny Los Angeles, California. Having the fortune of being able to go for both days, I am very excited to see a slew of artists crossing several genres, some new, some old, and some reunited again after a hiatus (with the unfortunate exception of Death Grips due to breaking up last July). Here are my 10 most anticipated acts:

BY JACOB BALLESTERO

Unfortunately we all know of the travesty in Ferguson, Missouri, where unarmed teen Michael Brown was shot down by police on August 9, 2014. While those that are currently situated in Ferguson are protesting, many prominent musicians have also began to protest both physically and through their words. Let us take a look at some of the big names in music currently supporting the people of Ferguson and their cause.

Even if you do not know the name, you certainly know Martin Garrix. In fact, you are probably one of his over 300,000,000 views on his video for his song ‘Animals’ on YouTube, uploaded just a year ago. At only 18-years-old Martin Garrix is tearing up the festival scene and quickly rising to be one of the world’s top DJ/producers, and just last week I was able to sit down with him for an interview at Lollapalooza.

I am about to make the unpopular argument, that even Kanye himself will not say, as it would multiply his cocky arrogant reputation ten fold.  In this piece, and The Early Registration’s first ‘Making The Case’ feature, I will make the argument that Kanye West is the greatest rapper of all time.
