Thought the community college from NBC’s Community was the college community college ever? Well not today, as Mr. West himself (as per part of his community service) taught a course at LA Technical Community College. Getting mad at yourself for going to a big private university aren’t you?
Yesterday, we joined the minority of media outlets by coming to Kanye’s defense about the whole ‘wheelchair incident’. For those who don’t know Kanye recently was met with media backlash after he stopped the music at an Australian concert to make sure everyone got up out of their seats. After learning a certain individual wasn’t standing because they were in a wheelchair, Kanye continue the show (a clear misunderstanding and a story which should have never been a story in the first place).
Today during his Australian tour, Kanye West stopped the music to again talk about the press and address the wheelchair incident, where such sources as Fox Newsinaccurately reported that Kanye “tried to shame a man in a wheelchair to stand.” Well folks, there are a lot of good members of the press out there, but Kanye was pretty spot on today in Australia.
There are just 15 days (September 30th) until the eligibility period ends for the 57th annual Grammy awards. In what looks to be an arguably week year for critically acclaimed albums, and what has also been the year for surprise releases, some of your favorite artists could still swoop in and steal the most prestigious award in music. We certainly wouldn’t rule it out.
Last November, Tyler the Creator got his wish when he convinced Kanye to perform Tyler’s favorite Ye song ‘Late’ at the Odd Future Carnival, a song that Kanye had not performed in years. Although Kanye consistently delivers two-hour long setlists at his tours, full of hits from his debut The College Dropout to his latest Yeezus, there are many B-side songs that we would love to see live. We reached out to Kanye fans at KanyeToThe to compile a (dark twisted) fantasy setlist full of other B-Side classics.
Big Sean has been hinting all week that we should expect new ‘GOOD’ music. Today Sean dropped 4 new tracks, which feature production by Kanye West, Key Wane, Nate Fox, and MikeWillMadeIt. The songs, titled ‘I Don’t F*ck With You’, ‘4th Quarter’, ‘Jit/Juke’, and ‘Paradise’ were posted on the G.O.O.D. music artist’s Soundcloud.
This past summer Dave Chappelle recounted a story about a young Kanye West in which Chappelle overheard Kanye telling someone over the phone about how he was with Chappelle watching unseen clips of The Chappelle Show. Chappelle, in his interview with The Tonight Show, said that during the phone conversation, that after asked about how a young Kanye was in such a setting, West replied “Cause my life is dope, and I do dope shit.” Well in honor of that quote, we have photoshopped 5 images of Kanye doing ‘dope shit’ that he hasn’t done yet.
If you are Kanye West, where do you store your 21 Grammys (the most for anyone that young)? An office, living room, maybe even if its own trophy room? Apparently not, according to his wife, Kim Kardashian-West, Ye stores them anyway in his sock drawer. Take that Grammys.
