Check out Chance the Rapper and Colin Tilley‘s film debut, titled “Mr. Happy”. In the Tilley directed short, Chance the Rapper plays a depressed man Victor, who discovers a MrHappy.com website where he can hire a hitman to kill him. Speaking with VICE, Tilley said “Chance is like one of the most down to earth people I’ve ever met and right away I was like, ‘This dude is really special.’ We talked about film and he was telling me how he wanted to get more involved in it.” Good thing they got together, because you can watch their new short film below. It gets depressing at times (but that’s the point), so be warned. Ever since Outkast’s “Idlewild”, it has been hard to see one of your favorite rappers contemplate suicide on film. Only time will tell if this leads to Chance dipping his toes into more acting in the future.
Two big name rappers with Chicago roots, Chance the Rapper and Ludacris (Oak Park, IL), surprised Chicago Public Schools students this week with a surprise appearance at Alcott College Prep, for the “Get Schooled, Get Connected” program. So far the program has been very successful, which helps connect youth across the country with online educational resources to help with their high school to college transition. It is always great to see Chance give back to the community, as this is just one of many events that Chance the Rapper has hosted or attended to give back to the Chicago youth. Check out some photos below, as friend of the site Jesus Montero was there to capture some of the best moments from the event.

There quite a few musicians who look like they be brothers or sisters, and even some that look practically identical. You pretty much can’t watch a Toro y Moi video on YouTube without seeing at least a few people make a Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) related joke in the comment section. So we wondered what it would be like if some of these doppelgangers got in the studio and actually made a song together. Check out our list of the five musician doppelgangers that need to work together, with some that could maybe happen one day and some which definitely aren’t as likely.

Let’s admit it, we all have a favorite rapper of two that we wish we started listening to well beyond when we actually did. So for our new series we will be showcasing an artist that you probably should be listening to by now, but for whatever reason maybe they flew under your radar, and you want to get up to date before they continue to take off. So for this week, there is no better rapper to showcase than Chicago’s Vic Mensa. With the release of Kanye, Vic, and Sia’s new collaboration ‘Wolves‘, there will be a lot of rap fans who are just now learning all there is to know about the SAVEMONEY rapper. Vic has been huge in the city of Chicago for quite some time, but maybe you have slept on him for too long. Don’t worry! We got you covered with a Late Pass.
