One Direction Releases Their Brand New Single “Drag Me Down”

BY TER STAFF

Zayn Malik may have left the group to sign a solo deal with RCA but that isn’t stopping the guys from One Direction, as the group has released their new single ‘Drag Me Down’. The band dropped the song on iTunes and Spotify yesterday and it is available now here. Not only is this the first new music from One Direction in awhile, but it displays a new and more mature sound from the group. If you like what you hear, be sure to catch the guys on their current American leg of their On The Road Again stadium tour.  Their forthcoming album is due to release this November.

PARTYNEXTDOOR – “Kehlani’s Freestyle”

BY TER STAFF

In PND’s new song, he lets out the feelings he has for the R&B singer, Kehlani.  The two were in a relationship for a while, until Kehlani claimed she was single in a recent tweet.  Titled “Kehlani’s Freestyle”, this follows the footsteps of Drake’s “Bria’s Interlude” and “Cece’s Interlude” where the singing rapper also reveals his feelings towards his past girls.  The dreamy beat mixes perfectly with PND’s smooth vocals. Listen to the track below.

Oakland R&B singer Kehlani is on the come up, and if she isn’t your new favorite singer already, she likely will be soon. Not only does she have a track with the Based God, but everything she has released has been good, if not great (download her latest project here). One of our favorite records with Kehlani though is her collaboration with Chicago’s Chance The Rapper, titled ‘This Way’. And today, that record now has an official music video, as Kehlani recruited Chance for the video to her You Should Be Here single.

Earlier today, Odd Future’s Mike G (one of the group’s most underrated members) shared a old collaboration with fellow OFWGKTA member Earl Sweatshirt. What’s most interesting about this record, is that the track dates back all the way to 2009. You can noticeably tell the difference in the young rappers’ voices but the track, titled ‘FUK IT’, is still fire. We wonder what other Odd Future unreleased tracks are out there.

Listen to Eminem’s New Acapella Freestyle on “Sway In The Morning”

Eminem paid a visit to Shade 45‘s “Sway In The Morning” and blessed us all with a new freestyle. Spittin’ acapella on this one, Eminem proved he still has bars, and more bars, and more bars. With lyrics about Cindy Crawford, Jack Gyllenhaal’s new film Southpaw, Foxy Brown, Pam Grier’s tampons, his feud with Azealia Banks, Caitlyn Jenner (no offense though) and a thousand more entertaining and topical subjects, Em killed it (and all from the top of the dome)! “I’m what you’d get if Aaron Hernandez rhymed”, “And fuck Pop, I don’t even like refreshments”, “Fuck talking clear… I’d rather rap like an auctioneer”, it’s impossible to pick out just a few favorite lines. Rapping for 5-minutes straight, Eminem went crazy on this one! Em also added “it’s very rarely personal” and “I just say shit to say it,” so if he went at one of your favorite entertainers, don’t get upset.

Last month, when asked about a record that took her the longest to write, Meg Myers told us about her upcoming track ‘Lemon Eyes’. “‘Lemon Eyes’ took a pretty long time to finish, but that’s because we wrote an idea for it and then kind of pushed it aside,” Myers told us. “We would go back to it every now and then maybe mess with it, but it was a process. I think because it is a little bit out there and a little different from what I do, but every time we would approach it was just like ‘what (will) we do with this?’, but we figured it out!”

Well after a many months of writing, Meg’s track from her forthcoming album Sorry (which comes out this September) is finally here. And you can definitely tell that the many hours in the studio paid off on this one!

If there are two rappers that are hot right now its Chicago’s Vic Mensa and Atlanta’s Future. That’s why we were very excited when Vic dropped a little freestyle over Future’s Dirty Sprite 2 track, ‘F*ck Up Some Commas’. Next, Vic performed for his hometown crowd at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago and did a live cover of Future’s ‘Codeine Crazy’ record. And now to put the icing on the cake, Vic Mensa has dropped an official version to his Future cover, similarly titled ‘Codeine Crazy (Icarus Story)’. The track is fire!
