Jay-Z’s new music streaming service “TIDAL”, is coming with a huge announcement in just hours (at 4:00 PM Central), and to get music listeners hyped is a new trailer for the streaming service that boasts about its heightened quality. The official trailer features appearances form Jay-Z, Kanye West, Beyonce, Daft Punk, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Usher and more! As tweeted by Kanye himself, “In five hours history will be made.”
Jay-Z’s new music streaming service “TIDAL”, is coming with a huge announcement in just 16 hours from now (at 4:00 PM Central), and Hov may have something big in-store. Correction… Hov WILL have something big in-store, it is just a matter of what. Tidal is described as “the first music streaming service that combines the best High Fidelity sound quality, High Definition music videos and expertly Curated Editorial,” and we will certainly know more in less than a day’s time.
One reasonable theory with a bit of supportis that Kanye West’s highly anticipated forthcoming album, So Help Me God, will be released exclusively through TIDAL. Not only are Kanye and Jay close friends and long-time collaborators, but Kanye is rumored to have a 3% stake in the new service. And how could Kanye help out his big brother and make himself a lot of money at the same time? By a surprise release of his 7th studio album to support TIDAL’s launch, an album that is has been closed to finished for months. Finally, while Kanye could just be showing his support, his new tweet (below) and Twitter icon may foreshadow a surprise release. “Together, we can turn the tide and make music history. Start by turning your profile picture blue. #TIDALforALL”, tweeted Ye.
Last night we went to Earl Sweatshirt’s “Not Redy 2 Leave” Tour with Vince Staples and Remy Banks, at The Rave in Milwaukee. In addition to capturing some great photos of the energetic night, we had to get some great footage of the rappers as well. Watch our Milwaukee “Not Redy 2 Leave” tour recap video below.

Last night Odd Future’s Earl Sweatshirt brought the “Not Redy 2 Leave” Tour to The Rave in Milwaukee, WI. Kicking things off for the Wisconsin crowd was the talented Queens native, rapper Remy Banks. Performing a number of songs from his growing collection of tracks, the highlight of Banks’ set came with the drop of his new Left Brain produced and ‘C.R.E.A.M.’ inspired single, ‘.rem’. Following Banks’ energetic performance was Vince Staples, easily one of the most talented young lyricists who made quite a buzz last year with his Hell Can WaitEP. And soon after the Long Beach rapper’s performance of his ‘Blue Suede’ track, Staples brought out the man of the night, OFWKTA’s Earl Sweatshirt.

Check out Eminem’s new song, as heard in the trailer for the upcoming boxing drama “Southpaw”. “Southpaw” stars Jake Gyllenhaal and is directed by the acclaimed Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day”). And if the full version of this track is anything like Em’s previous soundtrack contributions, it will certainly be worth checking out when the entire song drops. You can catch “Southpaw” in theaters July 31, 2015.
During intermission of the Chicago Blackhawks game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Chicago’s own, Chance The Rapper tested his hockey skills from center ice at the United Center. Unfortunately for Chance though, his accuracy could use some work, as he went 0 for 3. Luckily he put his eggs in the music basket and not in being the NHL’s next Patrick Kane.
Watch Chance The Hockey Player’s hockey skills below. And if you’re a Chance The Rapper fan in Madison, be sure to check out his headlining performance at the Revelry Music & Arts Festival.
This year, March was jam packed with great releases, including a few surprise albums, from a variety of artists. March saw the release of King Kendrick Lamar’s highly anticipated sophomore album, To Pimp a Butterfly. We also were blessed with a brand new surprise album from Odd Future’s Earl Sweatshirt, with I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside. The month of March also saw a number of great indie releases, all helping 2015 continue its musical domination over 2014. Hit the jump and check out some of the best releases the month of March had to offer.
Rapper Lil Durk’s manager, 24-year-old Uchenna Agina (“OTF Chino Dolla”), was shot and killed early this morning in Chicago’s South Side. Agina was sitting in a car on the 8400 block of South Stony Island when someone walked up and opened fire, theChicago Sun Times reports. Agina was rushed to the hospital by a friend, but was soon pronounced dead at 2:04 AM, authorities said. No suspects are in custody. This is another tough loss for drill rapper Lil Durk, and another unfortunate example of Chicago being the murder capital of the world.
“Keep my name out of your nasty mouth” Skepta tells listeners in his new track ‘Nasty’, a reminder to English rapper Devilman (who has held a grudge ever since Devilman lost a battle to Skepta in 2013). No subliminals here, Skepta calls out Devilman for shit bars, snitching, stealing lines, being a sex offender and more. Either way, the rapper who got a recent shout-out from Kanye West has had quite a buzz of late and ‘Nasty’ is just another example of the British MC’s bars. The beat is nasty as well (pun intended of course).
