After months of tortuous teasing from Lana Del Rey, she has finally decided to drop the single, and the album’s title track, “Honeymoon”.
The single is a slow and swelling six minute burn that floats along sweet and serene strings. Staying in her breathy, whispery pocket, it seems she is continuing the departure of her more pop-friendly sound carved out on her first album Born To Die, as this new track sonically sounds more akin to her last full length LP, Ultraviolence.
Look for her new album Honeymoon to be out this September and listen to the new single with the same name below.
During her Ridgefield, WA date on her Endless Summer Tour last night, Lana Del Rey told fans that her forthcoming album, titled Honeymoon, would release in September this year. Is there a time of the year better than music festival season? We say no. And we just got even more excited for the upcoming season as Sasquatch! Music Festival announced their full schedule, as well as a few new additions to their lineup. This year Sasquatch takes places from Friday, May 22nd to Monday, May 25th at The Gorge in George, Washington. Fans will see performances from Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey, Modest Mouse, St. Vincent and more (get your tickets here).
The one downfall of any good music festival though is there are too many great sets to catch, with not enough time. If only we could be two (sometimes three) places at once. But now with the full schedule for Sasquatch available for music fans, we have compiled our suggested festival itinerary to help the Pacific Northwest plan out their full Sasquatch experience. Or if you prefer, create your own schedule at Sasquatch’s official website.
Check out first installment of our Festival Itinerary series at the jump.
Before you get too worried, no this is NOT a cruel April Fools Day prank. You read the headline right, as Canadian pop singer Grimes is set to join Lana Del Rey this summer on The Endless Summer Tour. While the tour officially kicks off in the beginning of May in Texas, Grimes will be joining Lana towards the end of May (5/28) in Indiana and will tour with Lana through June. Make sure to get your tickets now before they sell out. With two of pop’s most talented singers on one concert bill, this is not a tour that you’ll want to miss out on.
In the past few hours the winners were released for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, and already a lot of disagreement is surrounding some of the picks. While music is subjective in many ways, you of course can never make everyone happy. However, this year seems to be especially bad. Personally, I did not agree with almost all albums that were given a Grammy this year, so I was curious to see what the top critics in music thought.
Billboard has just revealed its 2015 “Power 100 List” and to cover the issue this year is none other than Kanye West, Lana Del Rey, and Lucian Grainge, Chairman/CEO of Universal Music Group (who tops the list as the new number one). The “Power 100 List”, which ranks the top executives in the music industry has 31 first-times in the 2015 list and Billboard brought in UMG artists Lana Del Rey and Kanye West to talk about Grainge and his number one status. “His eye is always on the future”, says Lana.
