Lana Del Rey, Lorde Receive Nominations for 72nd Golden Globe Award

Soon after one of the biggest snubs of the 57th Annual Grammy Nominations, as Lana Del Rey’s album Ultraviolence received no nominations, Lana today received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song for a Motion Picture for her track ‘Big Eyes’ used in the Tim Burton film of the same name. Also receiving nominations in the category include John Legend, Patti Smith, Greg Kurstin, and Lorde for her ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’ track used in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. Check out the full list of nominations for the music categories below and find out who wins on Sunday January 11th at 8PM ET as the 72nd Golden Globe Awards air on NBC.

J. Cole Performs “Be Free” on The Late Show with David Letterman

Last night, J. Cole performed ‘Be Free’ on The Late Show with David Letterman, a track written in response to the tension and incidents in Ferguson, MO. Although the track was not included in J. Tyga – “Make It Work” (Video)

Check out rapper Tyga’s new video for his track ‘Make It Work’, which features an appearance by Drake’s ex-girlfriend Dollicia Bryan. This should come as no surprise as Tyga recently expressed his dislike for his former label-mate Drake. Look out for Tyga’s new album The Gold Album soon, which will be put out independently and not through Cash Money Records after a much publicized feud between Tyga and his label affiliates.

Photos: Wilco Performs Night 2 of Their 6-Night Stand at The Riviera in Chicago

Last night, legendary alternative rock band Wilco performed the second night of their 6-night stand at The Riviera in Chicago, IL. Celebrating their 20-year anniversary, Wilco is in the middle of their tour, performing a week’s length of shows in Chicago until the 12th. With different openers and different setlists each night, last night American folk singer Sam Amidon took stage for the sold-out crowd to set the mood for Wilco’s 30-song setlist (complemented with two encores).

The 5 Biggest Snubs from the 57th Annual Grammy Nominations

Earlier today the nominations were announced for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. As with many years, there were noticeable snubs that left critics and fans scratching their heads. While many used to praise the Grammys for their ability to reward quality music versus music that merely sells well, in recent years the committee’s selections seem especially poor (especially in the category of rap). Why the selections are not the best this year is for a different conversation, however we have compiled a list of the five biggest snubs of today’s nominations.
