Milwaukee singer Lex Allen is easily one of the most exciting artists out of Chicago’s sister to the North. With an amazing and beautiful voice, that can be best paralleled to that of John Legend, but with a complete style of his own, Allen is not only immensely talented but the bravery he shows through the sexuality in his music, while crossing genres with a historically unaccepting style of music, is without a doubt unmatched even in 2016. His raw talent mixed with his honesty makes him one our favorite artists to watch in the new year.

Allen’s new record is no exception to all the things that make him great. ‘Cream and Sugar’, which is produced by Q the Sun and assisted by a verse from the equally talented Milwaukee artist Webster X, is a catchy track that is sure to get you to sing along. With visuals directed by Cody LaPlant, the track and music video together demonstrate the vast creativity from New Age Narcissism, a Milwaukee collective with three of its members on this record alone (Allen, Webster X, Q the Sun).

Watch and listen to Lex Allen’s new music video and record ‘Cream and Sugar’ below.

Billy Joel

“Billy Joel sells more tickets per year at Wrigley Field than the Chicago Cubs,” is a joke I would make if the Cubs were still a horrible baseball team. But either way, Billy Joel sure does play Wrigley Field a ton, and will huge sell out crowds. In fact, not other artist has ever performed at Wrigley Field more than Billy Joel. However the Piano Man isn’t letting his record stop at four Wrigley performances, as this year Billy Joel will perform at the historic baseball field for a fifth time, extending his record by one.

Billy Joel is scheduled to perform on August 26th with tickets ranging from $49.50 to $129.50. Tickets are expected to go on sale at 10 AM on January 23rd via Cubs.com, and check out our photos from Billy Joel’s last Wrigley Field visit below.

Check Out “Street Dreams”, Pigeons and Planes’ Documentary on Hustling Mixtapes on the Streets

BY TER STAFF

Pigeons and Planes has took an in depth look into the world of rappers who still hit the streets to hustle their mixtapes on the street for their first short documentary. While Soundcloud and the internet as a whole dominate as today’s primary way to share your music, the gorilla marketing of selling your CD to people on the street will never die.

Anyone who has stepped outside of rural Iowa has been approached by a rapper on a sidewalk, trying to make a sale. “Give me a chance like she gave you,” I was once told by a struggling rapper while walking with my girlfriend. “Street Dreams” is a unique look at three rappers who live this life, a window into the world of aspiring artists whose hard work doesn’t stop when their track is mixed and mastered.

Watch “Street Dreams” below or at Pigeons and Planes directly.

Coachella East (Panorama) is Officially Coming to New York City

BY TER STAFF

Don’t worry Big Apple, Indio may be over a two thousand miles away but Coachella is coming to a city near you! Well kinda… Earlier today, Goldenvoice, the masterminds behind America’s premiere music festival Coachella, announced that their new music festival Panorama is officially coming to New York City. The new festival will take place at Randall’s Island Park from July 22-24, the same location of The Governors Ball.

It should come as no surprise that The Governors Ball was not happy when news of another big music festival in New York started to fly around, and they likely aren’t happy to hear that “Coachella East” will officially take place at the exact same park just weeks after their festival. The work isn’t totally cut out for Panorama though as The Governors Ball has one hell of a lineup this year, including a headlining performance from Kanye West, so if Panorama wants to take the title as New York’s best festival, they will need to have the lineup to go with it.

Bonnaroo’s 2016 Lineup Will Be Revealed January 19th on “Conan”

So far today has been a huge day for music festivals. While here in Chicago temperatures reach zero, summer music festivals like Coachella, Sasquatch and now Bonnaroo have all shared big news of their own. First Sasquatch revealed their 2016 lineup which had some huge names like The Cure, Florence & The Machine, Disclosure, Alabama Shakes, Major Lazer and more. Next up, Coachella promoters (Goldenvoice) announced that Coachella East (actually titled Panorama) will officially be coming to New York City. Now competing with The Governors Ball, Panorama will surely have a packed lineup in its first year.

Last but not least, Tennessee’s premiere music festival Bonnaroo made a major announcement today. Switching up their lineup announcement process this year, The Farm’s 2016 announcement will be announced live on January 19th on TBS’s Conan. So come 11/10 CT next week, definitely be sure to tune in!
