Tyler The Creator Announces That Odd Future Is “No More”

“Although its no more, those 7 letters are forever,” tweet Odd Future’s Tyler the Creator tonight. Is Odd Future (“OFWKTA”), which consists of Tyler the Creator, Frank Ocean, Earl Sweatshirt, Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis, Mike G, Taco and many more, really done? As suggested by Tyler’s tweet, it must be. If so though, what exactly does that mean? Odd Future isn’t like One Direction, as in it’s not a group/bank that always and only travels together. It’s a collective of artists, each with their own visions and specific styles. Tyler the Creator does his thing. Frank Ocean does his thing. Earl Sweatshirt does his thing. And the rest of Odd Future does their thing as well. So while we don’t exactly know what the end of OFWGKTA means, this certainly wasn’t a good tweet to read!

Check out Tyler’s heartbreaking tweet below.

Frank Ocean Posts Empty “states” Playlist on Soundcloud

BY TER STAFF

Is there a new Frank Ocean project about to drop? Earlier today, singer Frank Ocean posted a mysterious playlist/set, titled states, on his Soundcloud. There is only one problem though, the playlist is empty. At best this means that he is on the verge of blessing fans with a surprise project, for free on Soundcloud. At worst this means that Frank is playing a cruel joke on fans who have been more than thirsty for a new project, ever since his critically acclaimed channel ORANGE album.

While we wait on states (maybe forever), watch Frank perform ‘Pyramids’ on Saturday Night Live below.

After a week with a number of big name music leaks, today we have a new track from R&B’s The Weeknd. This one is titled ‘Girls Born In The 90s’, and it is of course dedicated to all the lovely women born from 1990 to 1999. The smooth new track is definitely worth a listen! Also be sure to check out our photos from The Weeknd’s Coachella performance this year.

Listen to ‘Girls Born In The 90s’ below.

Does This 2011 Tweet Out Young Thug as Gay?

BY TER STAFF

Gay, bi, or straight (even in the rap world), it’s all about the music. Frank Ocean’s music can make you catch feelings about a girl that you didn’t even know you liked. Rappers can wear dresses and they can be as straight as they come. But of course, especially after suspicion flare, fans tend to be curious and wonder what their favorite artists are up to when the doors are closed.

Young Thug is one such rapper who is constantly surrounded by gay rumors. And to be fair, a lot of it is his own doing. He admittedly wears little girl dresses (not that all or many gay men do that), and he calls his friends “bae”, “babe” and “hubby”. Despite the signs, that seem almost obviously homosexual to many, Young Thug has insisted he is straight and even said there is “no fruity sh*t going on.” Also, no one loves the ladies quite like Thugger, and he does have a fiance.

But a recent 2011 tweet has surfaced, which makes it hard to imagine that Young Thug is not bi or homosexual. Years ago, well before Rich Gang Cash Money rapper was famous and years before the success of his breakout 2014 hit ‘Stoner’, he replied to “@LilTony_Mdc” on Twitter with “god dam u sexy kuz.” While only Thugger could explain what the context was, the proof may be in the pudding on this one.

Gay or straight, no one makes a hook like Thugger. And if the rapper is gay and decides to come out publically, that will certainly be a great day for hip-hop. Check out the tweet below, which has not yet been deleted (and a screenshot of the tweet, in case it does get deleted).

Jack White Talks White Stripes Reunion Chances and if Touring is “Worth It”

BY TER STAFF

Courtesy of Rolling Stone

In a members only Q&A for the Third Man Records‘ Vault this past weekend, Jack White talked a number of topics that might be worrisome for fans. Despite recently finishing a huge world tour, in promotion of his latest LP Lazaretto, White contemplated if it was all worth it.

“I’d say half the show I play, I’d rather not play, festivals for example. But I have to make the best of it and try to get inspired.”

White also added, “only seated theaters for acoustic shows for the rest of my days.” The other half of The White Strips, Meg White, was also discussed in the Q&A. “(Meg) doesn’t answer her phone… That time is gone.” Then, when asked about the chances of a reunion if they are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, White replied, “Doubt it, and doubt it.”

Kind of a depressing fans only Q&A, but hopefully it is just a funk and fans will hear a lot more of Jack White in the future(assuming they put their cell phones away at his concerts).

Last night G.O.O.D. Music’s Big Sean brought his 2015 tour to The Rave in Milwaukee, WI. Performing a number of tracks off his latest Dark Sky Paradise album (check out our review here) as well as a catalog of his best hits and verses, Big Sean instantly got the crowd hyped as he opened to his extended version of his ‘Paradise’ record.

“Was up in Florida, no Marlins, n*gga. I’m that Shawn, no Marlon, n*gga.”

And with an energetic opening performance from ‘Backflip’ rapper Casey Veggies, who will see the release of his debut album later this year, and a surprise performance by Chicago’s King Louie (and even an appearance by 1/2 of the production duo, Da Internz), Milwaukee fans definitely got their money’s worth last night.

Check out our photos below, as we sent our photographer Dan Garcia to capture some of the night’s best moments.
