Milwaukee’s Summerfest 2015, the World’s Largest Music Festival, only has a couple days left and so far it has definitely delivered. Unlike many other premiere music festivals, Summerfest (which runs until July 5th) brings an especially diverse list of performers to Milwaukee’s lakefront every year, creating for a festival where you can see Kanye West (who performed in 2011) share the same stage as Peter Gabriel and Kid Rock. So to get things started for The Early Registration’s first year at Summerfest, we had to catch a wide variety of acts all festival long.

Check out our Summerfest Day 9 photos below, of Ed Sheeran and Milwaukee’s own WebsterX.

If you haven’t heard of “The One and Only PPL MVR”, you are missing out. With their awesome yeti/abominable snowman costumes, their distorted voice, and their total commitment to character (they inaudibly grunt throughout their interviews), these guys rock! However given the overnight status these guys have attained (they have only been on social media for less than a year and are already signed to Elektra Records), many have questioned whether these guys are another famous band in disguise. One Reddit user did his research and put together a very convincing argument that PPL MVRs are really New York alternative rock band Brand New. With new evidence that we uncovered, we agree!

Singer Lily Allen Stole and Burned All “F*ck Kanye” Flags at Glastonbury

English singer/songwriter got on the good side of a whole lot of Kanye West fans this past weekend as she made it her mission to bring justice to all the Kanye West hate at Glastonbury. Before Kanye West’s epic festival performance, and despite a highly publicized petition asking that Kanye be removed from the line-up, Lily Allen traveled around the festival and then stole and burned any anti-Kanye propaganda that crossed her path.

Sharing the images on her Instagram, the Sheezus singer wrote “The flag said FUCK OFF KANYE, so I burned it till it said just KANYE . Don’t go for dinner at someone’s house and tell them their food sucks.” We can’t argue with that logic!

Check out Lily in action below!

Meek Mill Says He is Not Inspired by J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar

Meek Mill has nothing but positive things to say about his rap peers, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. However, when it comes to artists that inspire him, Meek said in a recent interview with Angie Martinez, that Cole and Kendrick do not make the cut. “They’re dope lyricists, great rappers…but they don’t inspire me. They don’t seem like they’re talking to me. And that ain’t no hate,” Meek said when speaking on Kendrick and Cole.

When it comes to the artist that Meek listens to he listed the likes of Future, Dej Loaf, Young Thug and Jay-Z. No disrespect intended from Meek, but it will be interesting to see if Kendrick or Cole give the rapper a friendly reminder of why they should inspire him. After all, they put out two of the best rap albums in the past year (and it isn’t even debtable).

Watch Meek Mill’s full interview with Power 105.1‘s Angie Martinez below.

Interview: Royal Blood Talks Writing their True “First Album”, Not Being Restricted by their Band Size & More

Royal Blood is your favorite rock band’s new favorite rock band. The English duo, which is comprised of Mike Kerr (bass/vocals) and drummer Ben Thatcher, only formed a couple years ago but already they have huge co-signs from the Arctic Monkeys, the Foo Fighters, The Script and Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, just to name a few. Their biggest single to date, ‘Figure It Out’, from their debut and self-titled album, goes hard and rocks as much as any 5-man rock band. Mike and Ben carry the weight and pressure that the Royal Blood name already holds in its huge expectations, but you wouldn’t guess it from their persona. We sat down with the guys this past month at Bonnaroo to get to know the laid back and confident rockers with a sense of humor.
