This weekend we just capped our coverage at Chicago’s North Coast Music Festival at Union Park. Hip-hop fans will be glad to see other great acts returning to Union Park this month as Common brings his AAHH! Fest. As announced last week, legendary comedian Dave Chappelle will be hosting this years event.
The hit single “Made in America,” from Kanye West and Jay Z’s critically acclaimed collaboration album Watch the Throne, is now the subject of a $3 million dollar lawsuit. New York artist Joel Mac claims that the song, which features Frank Ocean and Mike Dean, copies the lyrical themes of his 2009 track, also titled “Made in America.”
Earlier this summer at Ottawa’s Bluesfest, Action Bronson continued to rap during his set while walking from the stage to the port-o-pottys. Tonight at Chicago’s North Coast Music Festival he may have topped himself. After jumping into the crowd in the middle of his performance at NCMF’s ‘773 Stage’ Action made his way through his crowd and walked on the ‘312 Stage’, which was setting up for Bassnectar’s headlining performance.

Over the weekend, Wiz Khalifa’s “Under the Influence of Music” tour rolled through Northern California. At Friday’s show at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, 38-year-old local Eric Johnson was shot backstage, dying from injuries the following morning. Since the incident, Young Jeezy has been arrested by local authorities with bail set at $1 million dollars.
