Starting off your week is a brand new song, and self-direct video to go with it, from British singer, FKA Twigs. The video (and track), titled ‘Glass & Patron’, is an official music video for today’s YouTube Music Awards. YouTube couldn’t have made a better pick, as FKA dropped a number of great music videos last year. This is also a great taste of new music from FKA, ever since she gave us her debut album LP1 in 2014. Watch FKA Twigs’ ‘Glass & Patron’ video below.
Check out Wale’s new Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign collaboration, ‘The Summer League’. Wale’s The Album About Nothing LP is set to arrive in a week, so get excited with this new track. Stream a radio rip of ‘The Summer League’ below.

This weekend ‘Lemme Freak’ rapper Lil Dicky invited us to the Midwest leg of his Professional Rapper tour. Traveling to Madison’s Majetic Theatre and the Bottom Lounge in Chicago, The Early Registration‘s Dan Garcia captured shots of the weekend’s best moments. Although a picture says a thousand words, photos were not enough to help capture the energy that LD brought to both shows, so we had to get some footage as well. Watch our tour recap with Lil Dicky below: full of lap dances, crowd surfing, pizza parties and more! And if LD is coming to a city near you, make sure you get your tickets before they sell out!
Doing its part in changing the way music festivals are announced, the University of Wisconsin’s Revelry Music and Arts Festival revealed their 2015 lineup through tagging the acts with spray paint. This year the festival, which takes place on the same day as Madison’s infamous Mifflin Block Party, will feature performances from The Chainsmokers, Mick Jenkins, Alunageorge, Until the Ribbon Breaks, Nick Hakim, and a headlining set from Chance the Rapper and The Social Experiment. Chance, as many Badgers know, helped the Badgers kick off their inaugural festival years ago, just days after the release of Chance’s critically acclaimed Acid Rap mixtape. Revelry takes place on May 2nd, 2015 at the University of Wisconsin (the alma mater of our Editor-in-Chief). Check out the lineup poster below and get your tickets now!
Last night rapper Lil Dicky brought the spring leg of his Professional Rapper tour to the Bottom Lounge in Chicago, IL. Rapping his early tracks like ‘Ex-Boyfriend’ and ‘White Dude’ from his So Hard mixtape, LD also performed a brand new track and his newest singles ‘White Crime’ and ‘Lemme Freak’. Performing for his second ever time in the Windy City, the sold-out Chicago crowd matched Lil Dicky’s energy all night. Check out our photos below, as The Early Registration was there to catch the best moments of the night. Also be sure to stay tuned for our official tour recap video (update: available now), and if LD is coming to a city near you, do not miss out.

Performing his early tracks like ‘Ex-Boyfriend’ and ‘White Dude’ from his So Hard mixtape, LD also performed a brand new track and his newest singles ‘White Crime’ and ‘Lemme Freak’. Dicky described his previous performance in Mad-Town as his best to date (“and it’s not even close”), and the sold-out crowd matched Lil Dicky’s energy all night, just an hour after Frank “The Tank” Kaminsky (a fan of LD) and the Wisconsin Badgers beat Coastal Carolina in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. Check out our photos below, as The Early Registration was there to catch the best moments of the night, and if LD is coming to a city near you, do not miss out.
Check out Chance the Rapper and Colin Tilley‘s film debut, titled “Mr. Happy”. In the Tilley directed short, Chance the Rapper plays a depressed man Victor, who discovers a MrHappy.com website where he can hire a hitman to kill him. Speaking with VICE, Tilley said “Chance is like one of the most down to earth people I’ve ever met and right away I was like, ‘This dude is really special.’ We talked about film and he was telling me how he wanted to get more involved in it.” Good thing they got together, because you can watch their new short film below. It gets depressing at times (but that’s the point), so be warned. Ever since Outkast’s “Idlewild”, it has been hard to see one of your favorite rappers contemplate suicide on film. Only time will tell if this leads to Chance dipping his toes into more acting in the future.
A few days ago, Death Grips finally announced the release date of their latest, and possibly final album, the powers that b, a double album composed of the first half niggas on the moon (which was released back in June last year) and second half Jenny Death which is scheduled to come out March 31. However, after a leak, the group has decided to put it up for streaming on YouTube, which you listen to below and pre-order the album here.
In a new interview with MTV, G.O.O.D. Music rapper Travis Scott covered a number of topics including his Rodeo Tour, working with Kanye West and Drake, Kid Cudi, his comments about J. Cole and Chance the Rapper, and his forthcoming debut album. Speaking on his Rodeo Tour and when he told fans to get hype, reminding them that his show isn’t a J. Cole or Chance the Rapper concert, Travis told MTV that there was no disrespect meant towards either but his show is different and like a “real life circus”.
And fans who have caught the circus can get excited for La Flame’s upcoming debut album, Rodeo. Scott specifically took time to talk about the unique release method of his upcoming album (and no it won’t be a “surprise album”), “the way I’m dropping the album this year, is different than others.” He said though that he won’t drop his album until there is a Kid Cudi collaboration (the two have been in the studio together though). Another treat from the interview, speaking on Kanye West’s new album, is that ‘All Day’ is nowhere near the hardest banger on the album. So get excited for Ye’s new album, Mr. Solo Dolo meets La Flame, and check out the full interview below.
