Indie rockers Modest Mouse brought their 2018 tour to a sold-out crowd at Milwaukee’s historic Eagles Ballroom Saturday night. Returning to Wisconsin after a memorable performance at Madison’s Breese Stevens Field last fall, the Issac Brock-Led band put on a 2+ hour performance that the city won’t forget.

While the Washington natives haven’t released an album since 2015’s Strangers to Ourselves, Modest Mouse can still fill venues across the country, due to their loyal fan base and impressive catalog of projects.

With a unique set-list for every performance and Brock’s entertaining banter between tracks, what better way could Milwaukee spend their Cinco de Mayo?

Last night brought no surprises in the best way possible. Modest Mouse kept fans engaged while they performed a random assortment of singles and B-sides, ranging from their 1996 debut, This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About to their newest LP and their critically acclaimed Good News for People Who Love Bad News.

The night’s good news for people who love bad good news? Modest Mouse delivered!

The set even included two encores, after fans spend nearly a half hour cheering for Modest Mouse to return to the stage. Their persistence was rewarded as the band’s second encore brought the band’s biggest hit to date, ‘Float On’, a track which the band often leaves off its setlist.

Photos: Bon Jovi Brings Their “This House Is Not For Sale Tour” to Milwaukee for the BMO Harris Bradley Center’s Final Concert

Bon Jovi was the first act to sell out the Bradley Center (now the “BMO Harris Bradley Center”) nearly 30-years ago for the Milwaukee arena’s first concert season. So it was only right that the New Jersey rock icons brought their “This House Is Not For Sale Tour” to the downtown arena for it’s last concert ever.

After the Milwaukee Bucks lost a hard fought game 7 to the Boston Celtics, and therefore did not advance in the NBA playoffs, the stage was set for Sunday night, making the night’s event the last ever fan event in the Bradley Center (only a Northwestern Mutual conference will follow).

Needless to say, a lot of emotions filled the sold-out building for fans young and old. So many memories were made in the 30-year-old building, and a lot of them included Bon Jovi. Sunday night marked Bon Jovi’s sixth ever performance at the arena, and when the building is demolished in the following months, only fellow New Jersey native Bruce Springsteen will have performed at the Bradley Center more times.

With such an historic night, expectations were at an all time high for Jon Bon Jovi and company. The newest inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Bon Jovi are rock legends who have found a second home in Milwaukee over the decades. And Bon Jovi certainly did not disappoint.

Performing cuts from their 2016 album, This House Is Not For Sale, and of course their catalog of hits from the ’80s and beyond, Bon Jovi rocked out with their Wisconsin fans from start to finish. And what better way to end the performance than Jon Bon Jovi going down into the crowd to perform the band’s 1992 single ‘Bed of Roses’, and a memorable encore performance of ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’ and ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’, two of the band’s biggest hits.

While on the surface tonight was just another stop on Bon Jovi’s current tour, the night was so much more for the city of Milwaukee, and fans in attendance experienced a night that they will not soon forget.

Viral Sensation Froggy Fresh Performs at Reggie’s in Chicago

BY TER STAFF

Photo by Dan Garcia/The Early Registration

The rapper formerly known as “Krispy Kreme”, aka the one and only Froggy Fresh, invaded Reggie’s Rock Club in Chicago last night for his headlining tour across the country. Known first for his viral music video ‘The Baddest’, which amassed millions of views upon its release, Froggy Fresh has kept his hustle and continued to create some Grade A content through the years.

With Money Maker Mike by his side, the rapper’s trusty sidekick who single handedly made Mac Miller’s merch cool, Froggy Fresh delivered an entertaining performance for a packed crowd of his Windy City fans. Although neither are from Chicago, the duo famously repped the hometown Chicago Bulls in their hit ‘Dunked On’, so it was only right that Chicago embraced the pair at Reggie’s Saturday night.

Last night’s setlist consisted of all the fan favorites, from Froggy’s “Krispy Kreme” days with ‘The Baddest’ and ‘Haters Wanna Be Me’, to his more recent tracks (which feature some of the best story telling in rap) like ‘Dunked On’ and his ‘Stolen Bikes’ series. Froggy Fresh even made the live debut of his new track ‘Prank Call’.

Froggy’s tracks and videos are remarkably fun and addictive, leaving fans left to wonder whether Froggy Fresh is a joker or a genius. The truth is likely a little bit of both.

Froggy Fresh has co-signs from everyone, from John Cena to Mac Miller, and of course his dedicated fans who filled the venue last night while asking “Why Is James crying?” Do yourself a favor and see Froggy Fresh in 2018 to find the answer to that question, at one of his many tour dates across the U.S.

Photos: Camila Cabello Brings her “Never Be The Same” Tour to Milwaukee’s Riverside Theater

Camila Cabello shined last night, after her sold-out Milwaukee performance at the beautiful Riverside Theater. Currently in the middle of her headlining Never Be The Same Tour, the former Fifth Harmony stand-out is constantly proving that her solo career is more than promising.

Although we have already caught a few solo performances from Camila, during a number of radio shows, it was interesting to see how Camila Cabello would handle herself on a headlining tour of her own. From opening her performance on a high note, with her current hit single ‘Never Be The Same’, to closing the memorable night with her number one single, ‘Havana’, Cabello was amazing from start to finish.

With opening performances from a cast of emerging artists, which included Bazzi, Jack & Jack and Skylar Stecker, Cabello’s headlining set had the highest of expectations. And Cabello delivered. Performing her entire debut album, as well as a number of features and unreleased tracks, Cabello put together a perfect blend of tracks for her setlist.

Highlights of the night included her stripped performance of ‘Consequences’, her (literally) dark performance of ‘In The Dark’, and of course her encore of ‘Havana’ and her unreleased Pharrell-featured track, ‘Sangria Wine’. Cabello’s talents are as diverse as her audience, bringing together fans of different cultures, orientations and more, which made the night a very special one.

Camila Cabello isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and after witnessing her debut headlining tour in person, it’s obvious that Camila Cabello will be a staple in pop music for years to come.

Check our our photos from Camila Cabello’s Milwaukee stop on the Never Be The Same Tour below and peep the remaining dates of the sold-out tour here.

Photos: Little Big Town & Kacey Musgraves Give One Last Night of Country Music to Milwaukee’s BMO Harris Bradley Center

Tonight marked the last time a country artist or group would hit the stage at Milwaukee’s BMO Harris Bradley Center, as Little Big Town brought “The Breakers Tour” to the Wisconsin arena, just months before the city’s brand new state-of-the-art arena cuts the ribbon and opens its doors. With an arena and city that has seen a number of memorable country performances throughout the years, tonight was a great segue into the next chapter of country shows in Southeastern Wisconsin.

Not only was tonight the last country performance at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, rather it was also the second to last concert before the city’s new arena takes over. And with an amazing casts of performers, with Little Big Town, Kacey Musgraves and Midland, the stage was set for a memorable night.

Midland performed a few tracks from their 2017 debut LP, On the Rocks, while country’s rising star, Kacey Musgraves, set the tone for the night with performances from her brand new album, Golden Hour, which is already receiving wide critical acclaim.

But after a brief set-change, it was time for the act of the night, Little Big Town, to hit the stage. Known most for the collection of No. 1 singles, including ‘Pontoon’, ‘Girl Crush’, and most recently the Taylor Swift penned single, ‘Better Man’, the two girl/two guy group didn’t force too much production into their tour, however they made up for it with their fun stage presence and talented vocals.

Little Big Town’s set included performances of tracks from their entire discography, with a strong emphasis on their 2017 album where their headlining tour gets its name. With a trip to the B-stage, and performances of everyone’s favorite song, Little Big Town put on a great show for every single fan that filled the arena.

Check out our photos from tonight’s performance below and get your tickets for the remaining stops on their tour here.

Photos: Andy Grammer Brings “The Good Parts” to Chicago’s House of Blues

Andy Grammer is music’s easiest guy to root for, and tonight the Los Angeles-born singer-songwriter brought his headlining tour to the House of Blues in Chicago, IL. Dubbed “The Good Parts Tour”, in support of his brand new LP, the multi-platinum selling artist treated a packed crowd to performances of his new album and fan favorites from his 2011 self-titled debut and 2014’s Magazines or Novels.

From humble beginnings, the 34-year old Grammer has gone from selling CDs to tourists in Southern California to taking the world by storm with huge singles like ‘Honey, I’m Good’ and ‘Good To Be Alive’. And tonight fans in Chicago helped celebrate Grammer’s come up, by singing along word-for-word as the ‘Fine By Me’ singer and his talented band put on a show that the House of Blues will not soon forget.

Photo by Dan Garcia/The Early Registration

Grammer kicked things off with two tracks from his new album, as well as an entertaining performance of ‘Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah)’. Throughout the night Grammer performed the majority of The Good Parts, while still sprinkling in tracks from his first two albums. They say if you do something you love, you’ll never work a day in your life, and Andy Grammer is the epitome of just that, as his infectious energy on stage can’t help but make fans smile. No one had a greater night tonight than Andy Grammer, but his Chicago fans were a very close 2nd.

And to end the night on a high note, Grammer ended the main portion of his set with his mega single ‘Honey, I’m Good’, before treating fans to one last song, with an encore performance of the new album’s title track, ‘Good Parts’.

Photos: G-Eazy Returns to Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom for Another Sold-Out Show

BY TER STAFF

Oakland native and Hip-hop Heavyweight G-Eazy is a frequent visitor and Chicago favorite, who may even claim Chicago as a second home. It’s hard to disagree after G-Eazy delivered yet another sold-out show at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom this weekend.

Returning to the historic venue for the third time, this time for his new critically acclaimed, The Beautiful and Damned Tour, Friday night was maybe his best visit to the Windy City yet.

G-Eazy performed from his F. Scott Fitzgerald inspired album the Beautiful and Damned. He also threw it back with hits from his previous works, like These Things Happen and When It’s Dark Out. Records like ‘Me, Myself and I’, ‘I Mean It’, and his last song of the night ‘No Limit’ made G-Eazy’s set an almost perfect routine of non-stop thrills and a seamless flow of hits. Seeing G-Eazy on stage, one can wonder just how big the Oakland native can become.

If you missed G-Eazy’s set, no worries! He is set to return for a meet and greet/signing back in Chicago for his personal brand of whiskey, Stillhouse. For more information on his next visit click here.

Photos: P!nk Gets The Party Started on a Saturday Night at Chicago’s United Center

BY TER STAFF

Photo by Dan Garcia/The Early Registration

Check-in to a P!nk concert on Facebook and get ready for a stampede of comments and text messages of jealousy. And lucky for the city of Chicago, ensuing jealousy was curbed as P!nk delivered not one, but two, performances at the United Center this weekend (her 2nd and 3rd Chicago shows of the past year), giving more fans a chance to witness her critically acclaimed performances live and in person.

A woman that needs no introduction, and a tour than needs no opener, P!nk got the party started on Saturday night in Chicago, of course with her 2001 Grammy-nominated hit, ‘Get The Party Started’. And what better way, than in total P!nk fashion, high flying throughout the sold-out arena, hanging from a giant chandelier. With just one song, the performance was more entertaining than any other show that the United Center had seen in 2018.

From there on out, the hits, entertainment and energy levels never stopped for the Beautiful Trauma Tour. Through the 21-tracks that P!nk performed throughout the night, the ‘Raise Your Glass’ singer moved left-to-right, up-and-down, and all around her heart-shaped stage (complete with cat-walks and two wild fan pits) to make sure that no one in the audience felt left out and everyone got to enjoy their favorite P!nk record.

What was maybe most impressive is the different type of risks P!nk took throughout the night. With the Cirque Du Soleil type moves that she pulls off in the middle of her tracks, P!nk would easily get a pass for lip synching. Yet P!nk’s vocals were real and on-point for the entire night. It’s unrealistic to put on that much of a physically demanding show and still sound great, and yet she manages to do it.

The other major risk P!nk takes on her tour is a literal one, as she essentially risks her life with the acrobatics. At a point, P!nk was raised above her fans, hanging from her back-up dancer with no noticeable safety harness. While other pop artists in her shoes only float throughout arenas with slow-moving platforms, even they have safety belts attached, just in case all goes wrong. How P!nk finds someone to insure her tour is beyond me, but irregardless her show is definitely high-risk high-reward, and her audience is the beneficiary.

And although most of P!nk’s singles are very fun and upbeat, the Pennsylvania singer took a moment on stage to get serious and share a conversation she has with her 6-year-old daughter. After her daughter had been teased by children over her appearance, and after P!nk had to contemplate whether she was allow to kick a child’s a**, the singer told her daughter that despite the fact that many people feel the need to critique P!nk’s appearance and body, she still stands confident and sells out arenas throughout the world. And the United Center and all fans in attendance this weekend can obviously attest to that.

Too often, high production in a tour can come off as gimmicky and borderline desperate, but not in this case. The reason for P!nk’s elaborate and immensely entertaining performance is, if not for no other reason, to truly give back to her fans and ensure that they have the best night possible.

If you haven’t seen P!nk live, chances are you know someone who has and who has told you that you need to as well. Take their advice, because P!nk’s Beautiful Trauma Tour is like none other.

Check out our photos from night two of P!nk’s 2-night United Center residency below.
