UPDATE: Kim Kardashian has also shared the packaging on Instagram which confirms Jerry Lorenzo’s post and the shoe’s name, the “Yeezy 750 Boost”.

Yesterday Fear of God creator Jerry Lorenzo and Ibn Jasper shared images of one Kanye West’s new adidas shoe on their Instagrams, the Yeezy Boost, a shoe which Kanye was seen wearing today at a Grammys pre-party (photo below). Now today Lorenzo has shared another image on his Instagram, this time a Just Don x Air Jordan box along side a gray square box. Given the context, given the details Lorenzo has released so far, and given the look of the shoe, it is reasonable to assume that this unidentified box is likely the Yeezy Boost packaging. Decide for yourself, but definitely stay tuned for more details.

Throwback Thursday Review: Bluestars | Pretty Ricky

BY DAN GARCIA ★★★★☆

On Thursdays we review albums that are considered “classic”. Without a doubt, this will be our most critically unsupported “classic” album for a Throwback Thursday review yet, but I stand by the LP none-the-less. Although it was not received with critical acclaim and accolades upon its release, Pretty Ricky’s debut LP Bluestars is a classic and highly underrated R&B album. This project was much more than just the album that brought fans ‘Grind On Me’, rather it is full of great tracks top to bottom. Released almost a decade ago, this album has aged very well, even though the careers of Pleasure P, Baby Blue, Slick’em, and Spectacular have not. With tracks like ‘Your Body’, ‘On the Hotline’, ‘Nothing But a Number’, and of course ‘Grind On Me’, Bluestar is one of the best R&B group albums of all time, no disrespect to Boyz II Men, TLC, and Destiny’s Child. It is really hard to think of any R&B group since Pretty Ricky, to do it as well as these four men did with their solo album, and although they have since broke up, just last year rumors circulated over a possible reunion tour. A Bluestars 2 maybe?

Here at The Early Registration we like to pride ourselves on our music knowledge, to stay polished on our musical expertise our new feature is a little game of musical “6 Degrees”. For those who are unfamiliar, six degrees of separation is the theory that everyone in the world is connected by six or fewer steps, so we are now taking the liberty of connecting musicians by songs and features, who you would never think could be connected. This week our  piece is in honor of the upcoming 57th Annual Grammy Awards, where we will connect the two most opposite nominees for this year’s “Best Rap Performance” category, Christian rapper Lecrae and of course the always controversial Eminem. To spice things up, we will also include the other rappers in the category (Childish Gambino, Drake, Kendrick Lamar), all in just six steps.
