Matt Lauer and Kanye West haven’t had the best history, to say the least. Now it seems like things have escalated even further. What started with an appearance by Kanye on the Today Show with Matt Lauer in 2010, led to a series of tweets by Kanye, voicing his frustration. “While I was trying to give the interview they started playing the ‘MTV’ under me with audio!” Kanye tweeted. “I don’t mess with Matt Lauer or the Today Show … and that’s a very nice way for me to put it!” Ever since then, Kanye didn’t seem to forgive or forget, as he addressed his dislike of Lauer during one of his famous Yeezus Tour rants, just over a year ago.

Fast forward to 2015, Kanye and Lauer were in the same building for Saturday Night Live’s 40th Anniversary Special. And what better way to get back at Matt Lauer, than for Kanye to “pull a Kanye”, hilariously stealing the microphone away from Lauer on live television? And that is just what Kanye did. Lauer didn’t find it as funny as we did though, as he aggressively pulls Kanye away from the camera. Thankfully things didn’t escalate further, but knowing the bad history between the two, it didn’t seem like Lauer was in any mood for jokes. Watch Matt Lauer lose his cool a little too much on live television below.
