Bon Iver – For Emma, Forever Ago
Lead singer Justin Vernon suffered a major turning point in his life before this album was recorded. His girlfriend broke up with him, and he locked himself in a cabin for 3 months and wrote and recorded For Emma, Forever Ago. Much like Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska, this album is sparse and quite atmospheric, with Vernon’s vocals and guitar painting a vivid picture. A picture of a man walking alone on a chilly autumn day.
