Drake’s new surprise album If You’re Reading This It’s Too Lateis full of disses to his fellow labelmates. In his track ‘No Tellin”, Drake throws shade at his new OVO Sound artist iLoveMakonnen and in the album’s closing track ‘6PM in New York’ Drake takes shots at fellow Young Money/Cash Money (YMCMB) rapper Tyga. In the track, Drake raps “I heard the lil lil homie talking reckless in Vibe. It’s quite a platform you chose, you should have kept it inside. Oh you tried, it’s so childish calling my name on the world’s stage. You need to act your age and not your girl’s age.” Referencing Tyga’s interview with Vibe where he revealed that he didn’t like Drake, Drake takes a jab at Tyga and his relationship with his 17 year-old girlfriend Kylie Jenner. No mercy from Drizzy on these records!
“F*ck it, all you n*ggas two faced, got the club goin’ up on a Tuesday”, raps Drake on his new If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late track ‘No Tellin’. Of course, Drizzy is certainly referencing his iLoveMakonnen track ‘Tuesday’, but is he throwing shots at his own artist? After hearing Makonnen’s track ‘Club Goin’ Up on a Tuesday’, Drake teamed up with the young artist for the remix ‘Tuesday’, and later signed the Atlanta rapper. Fast forward a few months later, and now it seems like Drake may be calling Makonnen two faced.
Listen to the first single of iLoveMakonnen’s new project Drink More Water 5. Ever since the overnight success of the new OVO Sound artist and his track ‘Tuesday’ (thanks to the help of Drake of course), iLoveMakonnen is one of the biggest up-and-coming names in rap and hip-hop. ‘Super Clean’ is produced by Makonnen himself, with the help of producer Phantom Power. Stream the track below and watch out for Drink More Water 5 soon.
Atlanta producer Mike Will has had a long road to his new mixtape, Ransom. After dedicating himself to the project, fans have been able to see him change his mind on the project and it’s release daily through interviews and twitter feeds. At one point, there was an Interscope album with “Buy The World” as the lead single boasting features from Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar (and singing from Brandy and Future). Now, he has a mixtape to reclaim his thrown as Trap King. After a summer of Mustard and a year of other Atlanta beat wizards (Metro Boomin, Sonny Digital, 808 Mafia), it’s time for Mike to regain his position.
In honor of today being Tuesday, we have a video for the weekday club hit ‘Tuesday’ by OVO‘s newest artist iLoveMakonnen. A song that existed well before Drake, the Grammy winning rapper decided to jump on the track and soon after signed the previously unknown artist. Now we have the video!
