7. Marina and the Diamonds – FROOT

Indie pop’s Marina and the Diamonds often gets comparisons to Lana Del Rey, however her third studio album certainly showcases a contrast between the two artists. Definitely more upbeat than Lana, Marina’s style on FROOT makes it arguably her best album yet. The albums’ title track is energetic and fun, which seems to draw inspiration from a Madonna era pop sound, but with a modern twist. The pop beats on the entire record complement her voice better than her previous projects, and while this LP may crutch a bit on its singles and lead tracks, FROOT is certainly worth a listen.
