Chicago singer Jamila Woods has been gaining a lot of traction since assisting Macklemore on his conversation-starting record, ‘White Privilege II’. This time she has recruited Chicago’s own, Chance The Rapper, for her new Windy City themed track, ‘LSD’, referring to Chicago famous lakeside highway, Lake Shore Drive. Woods couldn’t have picked a better feature for this one, as Chance compliments Jamila Woods’ beautiful OddCouple produced tribute to Chi-town.

The new release is in anticipation of Woods’ forthcoming debut project, HEAVN. You won’t have to wait too much longer for this one either, as HEAVN is set to release this month, on July 11th, and features Chance The Rapper, Saba, Donnie Trumpet and production from Peter Cottontale, oddCouple and more.

Celebrating the one-year anniversary of The Social Experiment’s collaborative album, Surf, Chance The Rapper and Donnie Trumpet have released a brand new 11-minute record, ‘The First Time’. Produced by Nico Segal & Nate Fox for The Social Experiment, the new record isn’t even a month removed from Chance’s new solo project, Coloring Book, but that doesn’t matter because the song is definitely a must listen.

While we don’t know if The Social Experiment (the Chance led Chicago collective which is much more than just Chance’s band) are still cooking up their collection of collaborative albums, of which Surf was just the firstwe certainly hope so. When you get Donnie, Chance and company on the same record, you are bound to wind up with a quality track, some of which come in at 11-minutes long like this one.

Childish Gambino news is rare in 2016 while Donald Glover has shifted his focus on his forthcoming FX show Atlanta. So when Chance The Rapper gave a fan on reddit this weekend a simple one-word response, Chance and Bino fans everywhere rejoiced. During Chance’s reddit “ask me anything” fan Q&A, a fan asked the Chicago rapper:

“Does the Chance and Childish Gambino collab album/mixtape still exist?”

With just a few letters, Chance gave the answer we were all hoping for by replying yes. While he didn’t give any details, the fact that the music has been actually recorded gets rap fans everywhere hopeful that the project will be released. However, since Chance just released his highly anticipated album/mixtape, Coloring Book, and given how busy Childish Gambino is, don’t expect the project anytime soon.

Album Review: Coloring Book | Chance The Rapper

Chance 3
BY DAN GARCIA

After the long anticipated releases of Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo and Drake’s Views, there still remained two huge projects that rap fans were patiently waiting for in 2016, Frank Ocean’s sophomore release Boys Don’t Cry and Chance The Rapper’s first solo project since his 2013 breakout and sophomore mixtape, Acid Rap. And while Frank’s fans still have an indefinite wait ahead of them, the rap world rejoiced as Chance The Rapper finally blessed fans with his third mixtape free album. Titled Coloring Book, a title that was kept secret until its release, this may be Chance’s top project yet and a definite and promised improvement from his Social Experiment collaboration and heavily guest featured 2015 project, Surf. While Coloring Book still shares an all-star cast of features (Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Future, Lil Wayne, Young Thug, 2 Chainz and many more) that Surf made headlines with, it excels in the overall quality of music and is a much more cohesive project than Surf, similar to Chance’s efforts on Acid Rap, yet an album that differs from Acid Rap in many ways. Three years for a solo project since Chance The Rapper became the new young face of Chicago hip-hop may have seemed like an eternity, but we can now say that it was well worth the wait.

Now that Views and The Life of Pablo have blessed rap fans, besides Frank Ocean’s forthcoming sophomore album, there is no project in music that’s more highly anticipated than Chance The Rapper’s third mixtape/album and the followup to his critically acclaimed, Acid Rap. Last night fans got two steps closer to Chance’s upcoming release, as the Chicago native debuted the project’s track ‘Blessings’ on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and announced Chance 3‘s official release date.

Needless to say the performance was more than memorable, and fans can take comfort in knowing that Chance 3 will release in just one week, on May 13th. No exact word on the project’s method of release, whether it will be via iTunes, Apple Music, TIDAL, or what, but here’s to hoping that fans will finally be able to cop a physical copy of a Chance album.

Chance The Rapper is nearing a club ambassador deal with the Chicago White Sox, ESPN reports, and it’s our favorite new partnership in the music and sports worlds. Chance has famously sported his White Sox cap, repping Chicago’s Southside, for years, and which recently led to the Chicago native designing a special Sox cap of his own with New Era

While Chance’s Sox deal isn’t final and public just yet, Chance is certainly on path to help re-brand the Sox, the way that Drake has helped the Toronto Raptors in the NBA. So what better way for the White Sox to kick off their 2016 season than with Chance The Rapper throwing out the ceremonial first pitch for their home opener against the Cleveland Indians.

Rocking his new Sox hat, today marked the second time that Chance has thrown out the first pitch for the White Sox, but today’s pitch was especially significant. In a partnership that ESPN has called brilliant, as Chance wound up for his pitch this afternoon, the ‘Angels’ rapper may have given way to the start of a new era for the Chicago White Sox. Move over Wrigley, the U.S. Cellular Field is on its way to become the Windy City’s premiere place to catch a ball game.

Check out our snowy photos from Chance The Rapper’s ceremonial first pitch below.
