Photos: Modest Mouse Brings Their Fall Tour to the Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee

Indie rockers Modest Mouse brought their 2018 tour to a sold-out crowd at Milwaukee’s historic Eagles Ballroom Saturday night. Returning to Wisconsin after a memorable performance at Madison’s Breese Stevens Field last fall, the Issac Brock-Led band put on a 2+ hour performance that the city won’t forget.

While the Washington natives haven’t released an album since 2015’s Strangers to Ourselves, Modest Mouse can still fill venues across the country, due to their loyal fan base and impressive catalog of projects.

With a unique set-list for every performance and Brock’s entertaining banter between tracks, what better way could Milwaukee spend their Cinco de Mayo?

Last night brought no surprises in the best way possible. Modest Mouse kept fans engaged while they performed a random assortment of singles and B-sides, ranging from their 1996 debut, This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About to their newest LP and their critically acclaimed Good News for People Who Love Bad News.

The night’s good news for people who love bad good news? Modest Mouse delivered!

The set even included two encores, after fans spend nearly a half hour cheering for Modest Mouse to return to the stage. Their persistence was rewarded as the band’s second encore brought the band’s biggest hit to date, ‘Float On’, a track which the band often leaves off its setlist.

Check out our photos from last night’s performance below, and get tickets for the remaining tour dates here.

Travis Scott and Kanye West have delivered! Taking a break from the controversy that Kanye West has found himself in this week, La Flame shared their new collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert, which the two teased on Twitter, just a few days ago.

Titled ‘Watch’, the new track is definitely something you’ll bump in the car this summer. For Kanye’s anticipated verse, he raps about his opioid addiction, Larry David, the Sunken Place and more. From the content, it seems like the track was recently recorded, but either way, we love what we hear.

G-Eazy’s current European tour hasn’t got off to the best start. After the tour’s opening night in Stockholm, G-Eazy hit the club for the after-party and was allegedly acting wild before throwing punches at a security guard, hitting one guard in the face several times.

TMZ obtained video of G-Eazy being loaded into the police car, while girlfriend/singer Halsey is heard in the background about getting hit in the face (TMZ was told Halsey may have been struck by a security guard). When detained, police allegedly discovered cocaine in the rapper’s pocket.

TMZ’s Harvey Levin Defends Kanye West’s Comments on Slavery

BY TER STAFF

Photo by Dan Garcia/The Early Registration

After his interview with Charlamagne Tha God started to answer a lot of question fans had for Kanye West’s recent controversial support for President Donald Trump, Kanye found himself back in the fire of controversy after his visit with TMZ Live.

Engaging in a discussion with the TMZ Newsroom, Kanye West said the following:

“When you hear about slavery for 400 years, for 400 years? That sounds like a choice? You were there for 400 years and it’s all of ya’ll? We’re mentally imprisoned. I like the word ‘prison’, because slavery goes too direct to the idea of blacks. So prison is something that unites us as one race.”

While Kanye certainly could have articulated his point in a better way, given the greater context of his “slavery sounds like a choice” soundbite, it was evident that Kanye was not literally saying that slaves had a choice of whether or not they were slaves, rather there is a notion of mental imprisonment that people face. Kanye articulated this point further on Twitter, following the TMZ appearance.

https://twitter.com/kanyewest/status/991459400018624512

https://twitter.com/kanyewest/status/991459902718492682

https://twitter.com/kanyewest/status/991466506725744642

So while the context of Kanye’s TMZ quote and his following tweets show that Kanye West was not literally saying slaves had a choice, of course the internet (and now many musicians and celebrities) ran with the out-of-context quote to attack Kanye. On May 2nd, 2018, Kanye is as hated as he has ever been, all because his was trying to unite people.

One person who has since come to Kanye’s defense is TMZ’s Harvey Levin, who shared a conversation with himself and senior producer, Van Lathan, who stood up on-air to Kanye over his comments. Levin puts Kanye’s now famous and controversial soundbite into context and shows a lot of empathy for how media outlets have since picked up the quote and attacked Kanye. Levin admitted he has not slept since people’s takeaway from the conversation is that Kanye thinks slavery was a choice.

Kanye West Talks Obama, Trump, Jay-Z & More in Interview with Charlamagne Tha God

BY TER STAFF

Photo by Dan Garcia/The Early Registration

After about a million tweets and highly publicized support for Present Trump, fans have had a ton of unanswered questions when it comes to Kanye West. And today those same fans received answers to many of their questions, as Kanye took to YouTube to share his anticipated interview with Charlamagne Tha God.

Speaking on Donald Trump, Obama, Jay-Z, Virgil Abloh, mental health and more, Kanye West gave fans a very person window into his last year.

One thing that will give Yeezy’s more liberal fans a ton of comfort is when Kanye opened up about his recent support of President Trump. When describing a Kanye West run for presidency, Ye described it as a “Trump campaign with maybe the Bernie Sanders principles.” Kanye reiterated that Donald Trump becoming president showed him that he could one day become president, which clearly resonates a lot with Kanye. Although fans don’t like seeing Kanye in a MAGA hat, they should take comfort in knowing that Kanye West doesn’t agree with the majority of Trump’s controversial policies and political views.

It’s also not entirely surprising to see Kanye to move away from the Democratic Party, after hearing how Kanye was affected by interactions with President Obama. Not only was Kanye upset when video leaked of Obama calling West an asshole (with no apology after), but Kanye also shared a story of when he performed for an Obama fundraiser, but the President left right before Kanye performed, with no explanation. Let’s hope the two can talk and mend things real soon.

Watch Kanye West’s 100+ minute interview with Charlamagne below.
