More and more it is looking like Yeezus Season is back in action, as now Ellen DeGeneres has revealed that Kanye West will be joining her on Ellen this week Thursday (1/29) for an exclusive interview about his new album and family life. In message to fans, Ellen reveals that Kanye’s new album will be titled “Only One”, however we believe that this is just a reference to Kanye’s Paul McCartney collaboration ‘Only One’ (read our track review here). Stay tuned for more details and check out Ellen’s message below, as we can’t wait to hear more from Ye in 2015.
Well, earlier this month Big Sean told us that his new album would be his darkest yet, and today its title and cover art confirms it, as his upcoming album will be titled Dark Sky Paradise. Check out the cover art below and our recent interview with Sean here. Dark Sky Paradise is set to have features from Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and more! Given Roc Nation’s “stay tuned” tweet, don’t be surprised if we get the new album very soon.
[Update: Travi$ Scott, PartyNextDoor, Pusha-T, Jhene Aiko, Vinylz, DJ Dahi, Boi-1da and DJ Mustard have all shared the artwork on their Instagrams, so expect all to be on the album.]
We don’t know a ton about Big Sean’s forthcoming album, the followup to his sophomore album Hall of Fame, but we do it will be “raw” and his darkest album yet, as Sean told us in our recent interview. Today though we do know another huge feature for the upcoming project, as a video surfaced on YouTube, containing a snippet of one of the album’s songs. As heard in the video, Big Sean and Drake have a track on the album, which should be huge as their collaboration on Drake’s ‘All Me’ was fire. Check out the snippet of the track below.
Now Kanye is not only the first, but also the second, rapper to ever do a song with The Beatles’ legendary frontman Paul McCartney, as the two have combined talents with the lovely Rihanna for her track ‘FourFiveSeconds’. The song is available now on iTunesand was released via Roc Nation and Rihanna’s Westbury Road Entertainment company.
While mourning the loss of A$AP Yams (founder of the A$AP Mob), things for real as New Jersey rapper Retchy P told his followers on Twitter that it should have been Wale who died instead. After being called out for virtually no reason, Wale responded and the two exchanged a number of tweets. Even MMG‘s Fat Trel got involved as things started to get real. Check out the exchange below.

When I was first told to check out WebsterX from a friend of the site, I was skeptical, solely because the young MC hails from Milwaukee (which I admit isn’t fair). Sure, Milwaukee is my hometown and is less than 100 miles away from one of the best (if not best) music hubs in the world in Chicago, but let’s be real…Milwaukee has not historically been the best city for rap. Hell, the biggest rapper to ever come out of Milwaukee is Coo Coo Cal. And while ‘My Projects’ did reach the number one spot on the Billboard rap charts, that was just one song and well over a decade ago. ‘My Projects’ was an awesome track, but Cal was definitely not an artist that could put his whole city on the map. You would think that the city that boasts the “World’s Biggest Music Festival” would have at least a few worthy artists in the world’s best genre of music right now. But so far, it really hasn’t.
A couple of things Wale is passionate about is basketball and his hometown of Washington D.C. A couple of things Kanye West is passionate about is design and creating. Mix it all together and we just may have brand new uniforms for NBA’s Washington Wizards. In a recent interview, Wale told ESPN that he is in talks with Kanye to design the Wizard’s new uniforms. Let’s hope that something leads from this, as those uniforms would be the freshest on the hardwood.
“Used to ask for a verse, they said $500. Now they want to do a record, n*gga f*ck your budget”, raps Miami-native Bizzy Crook on the title track for his newest mixtape No Hard Feelings. While these lines may come off as vengeful and a contradiction to his “no hard feelings” mentality, it really isn’t. Rather Bizzy Crook, like all great rappers should (but who often don’t), raps about his real life and true experiences, to a more personal level than most rappers ever touch. Whether he is writing about rappers who wanted to charge for a verse who later had a change of heart when Bizzy began to create a buzz, or even the darker moments of his life when he used to battle suicidal thoughts, Bizzy Crook keeps things authentic. And his name is no coincidence, as Bizzy stays busy as well, now touring with Wale as part of the MMG rapper’s Simply Nothing Tour. Fortunately though he was able to sit down with us after he rocked the crowd on his Milwaukee stop of the tour, to talk about his No Hard Feelings project, working with artists and producers like Pharrell, Nelly and Boi-1da, Chicago influences and more.
