Last night, the Death Grips fanbase was set ablaze after the band’s alleged Twitter account revealed that their long-awaited follow-up to niggas on the moon, Jenny Death (part 2 of 2 of the double album the powers that b), would finally be coming out March 31. Along with the release date announcement, the band also revealed that the album would be up for pre-order on March 17, tour dates would be revealed March 24, and the tickets for the tour would be on sale starting March 27. In what may have been the hypest concert that Wisconsin has ever seen, G.O.O.D. Music’s Travis Scott and Rich Gang rapper Young Thug brought their energetic Rodeo Tour to The Rave in Milwaukee. After a turnt set by Atlanta producer/DJ Metro Boomin, to keep the crowd live, Scott and Thugger tag teamed sets, each performing a few songs at a time, and also performing a number of their collaborations together. Possibly the highlight of the night was when the two performed Travis Scott’s track ‘Mamacita’, off Scott’s Days Before Rodeo project (one of our top projects of 2014). Check out our photos below, as The Early Registration was there to catch the best moments of the night, and if they are coming to a city near you do not miss out.
It’s not easy to impress Yeezus. From a man who has described himself as being “majorly underwhelmed in general”, he took a few minutes to part the crowd of selfie-stealing fans to take in rapper Jef Jonsin’s performance atop of his own vehicle parked outside of Kanye’s Paris Hotel. Peep the video below and check out rapper Jef Jonsin’s music here.
It seems that the wait is finally over. Kendrick Lamar tweeted an iTunes pre-order link earlier today for his currently untitled sophomore album scheduled for release on March 23. His new single “The Blacker the Berry” sits at number 13 on the 16-song tracklist, with his lead single “i” released last fall not listed at all. You can pre-order the new album here.
We aren’t sure what the track is for, when it was recorded, how it leaked, or even its title… but a new Jay Electronica track has surfaced online. Although the leak isn’t the best quality, fans have been anxious for new music from Jay Electronica for years, ever since the New Orleans rapper signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation in 2010. The lyrics are hard and the record even has a sample from Jay-Z, which all makes us even more anxious for Jay Electronica’s debut project on Roc Nation. Stay tuned as we learn more about the track and await a CDQ version, but until then stream it below.
Kanye West is notorious for continuing to perfect the mixing and mastering of his tracks, even after their official release. That’s why we weren’t surprised to learn that his new record ‘All Day’ ft. Theophilus London & Allan Kingdom (buy it now on iTunes) has been remastered. As heard on streaming service WiMP (available in select European countries, and recently bid on by Jay-Z), the new mastered version of ‘All Day’ has a few subtle but still noticeable changes. For example, the vocals echo when Kanye says “All Day, n*gga” and synths in the track also stand out more. If you live in Europe, you may be able to check out the new version here, otherwise check out the differences below.
