Yellowcard Brings Their Farewell Tour to The Rave in Milwaukee

After decades of making music, through their first studio albums, through success of singles like ‘Ocean Avenue’ and ‘Only One’, through it all… Yellowcard is saying farewell to its fans across the globe. And last night, Yellowcard made one last stop at The Rave in Milwaukee, WI on their huge final tour.

Supported by bands Dryjacket and Like Torches, Yellowcard just released their last and self-titled album, but last night was all about the fans. Sprinkling in a few tracks from the new album, but paying tribute to their entire discography of hit singles and fan favorites, Yellowcard gave fans two hours of great live music, and a night that Milwaukee will not soon forget. While a few fans were listening to the music in the background, while watching Game 7 of the World Series at the bar, the true fans that came ready to rock were raging with Yellowcard, matching the band’s energy throughout the night.

Yellowcard frontman, Ryan Key, stopped the show to warn fans that if they came to work the next morning and told people they had the best night of their lives, they would be lying. Not because they didn’t have the night of the lives, but because if they are physically able to talk the next morning, then they didn’t rock out like they were supposed to. So throughout the night, Key and company made sure that their biggest Wisconsin fans would lose their voice by the night’s end. There was no better way to say goodbye and thanks, than last night.

Hey Violet Release Music Video for Addictive Single “Guys My Age”

BY TER STAFF

Perhaps our favorite record from an emerging group all year, Hey Violet’s ‘Guys My Age’ is a warning to the immature f*ckbois of the world, and it’s quickly gaining attention by radio stations everywhere. And to only help the track’s momentum, Hey Violet has released the official music video for the new single. Shot on location at California’s Madonna Inn and Pink Motel, the visuals were directed by Sophia Ray (Lily Allen, Roosevelt).

If you aren’t yet familiar with Hey Violet, they are comprised of Rena Lovelis, sister Nia Lovelis, Miranda Miller, Casey Moreta and Iain Shipp. After recently winning the 2016 Teen Choice Award for the “Next Big Thing” and touring with 5 Seconds of Summer, Hey Violet are picking up fans everywhere, and totaling over 2.3 million Spotify streams for their new single (heard on their EP, Brand New Moves) doesn’t hurt either.

New Music: Big Sean Address Kid Cudi & Naya Rivera in New Track “No More Interviews”

Touching on ex-girlfriend Naya Rivera’s “tell all” book, his friendship with former GOOD Music rapper Kid Cudi and more, Big Sean gives us a window into his life on his new record, ‘No More Interviews’. Produced by Amarie Johnson and Big Sean himself, Sean expresses his frustrations over media and drama in the new track.

“Don’t ask me no stupid questions, are you still signed to Ye questions, no Roc Nation questions, or who I’m dating questions. No more interviews, unless you want to talk about the music or something that has a different view.”

Especially noteworthy from the new track is Sean addressing Kid Cudi’s beef towards him, where Cudi called Big Sean and his girlfriend, singer Jhene Aiko, a “corn ball a** n*gga” and a “bum b*tch” earlier this year, likely because Jhene is recently separated from Cudi’s long-time producer Dot Da Genius. According to ‘No More Interviews’, Sean was surprised to hear that his former label-mate had such words for him. Sean says that Cudi was “forever grateful” for putting him on a record with Nas, and added that he is still praying for Cudi, while he is currently in rehab for depression.

Photos: Mac Miller Brings “The Divine Feminine Tour” to Milwaukee, WI

Milwaukee’s historic venue, The Rave, experienced another packed and memorable performance from Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller tonight, as he brought The Divine Feminine Tour to the familiar venue. With opening sets from ClockworldDJ and Soulection, Miller always brings great company when he comes to Wisconsin. His past opening artists have included Chance The Rapper, Earl Sweatshirt and Vince Staples (just to name a few), so don’t be surprised if one of Mac’s openers headlines their own Milwaukee concert in the future.

After the opening performances set the tone for the night, it was time for Mac Miller to greet his Milwaukee fans. Miller started off his set with his Ty Dolla $ign collaboration ‘Cinderella’, off Miller’s fourth studio album, The Divine Feminine, which released just last month. One of the more mellow tracks from his performance tonight, Miller performed a variety of records throughout the show, mellow and hype, new and old; including a number of songs from his new LP, as well as records from his entire discography of albums and mixtapes.

Highlights of the night were anything but few and far between, as the Wisconsin crowd matched Miller’s energy until he stepped off stage after his encore performances. However Miller’s energetic performance of ‘Loud’, a track which Miller used to open his last headlining tour, was a personal favorite. If Mac Miller ever slows down, which is unlikely given that he continues to hold onto his core fan base while gradually picking up new audiences every year, he will always have a second home in Milwaukee, as they will always show up for a great Mac Miller show.

Check out our photos below and make sure you get your tickets for The Divine Feminine Tour before they are all sold out!
