Last night, Vic Mensa performed to a sold out and hometown crowd at The Metro in Chicago, IL. Vic gave fans a great mix of new music, tracks from his INNANETAPE mixtape and his ‘Down On My Luck’ and ‘Feel That’ singles. The show was kicked off by opening performances from Leather Corduroys and Towkio Shawn and DJ sets by Va$htie, Stefan Ponce (Childish Gambino, Vic Mensa) and DJ Oreo (Chance the Rapper). If that wasn’t enough, Chicago’s own and longtime friend of Vic, Chance the Rapper made a guest performance to perform a new song with Vic.
Last night Run The Jewels (El-P and Killer Mike) played an amazing set for a packed crowd at the Saint Andrews Hall in Detroit. Rockwell Knuckles, Detroit Che, Dope Head, and ZelooperZ all opened and even Detroit’s own, Danny Brown, made an appearance. Last night we went to Watsky’s All You Can Do Tour featuring Kyle and Anderson Paak. Performing for a sold out crowd at The Metro in Chicago, fans were treated to three great energy filled sets. Before the show we spoke with Kyle (‘Keep It Real’ ‘Don’t Want To Fall In Love‘) as he met his Chicago fans, telling us about he was humbled by Childish Gambino reaching out and including Kyle’s track ‘Fruit Snacks’ in Gambino’s short film, Clapping For The Wrong Reasons. Next, before he stepped on stage, we sat down with Watsky for an interview about his thoughts on the price of music, his video for ‘Whoa Whoa Whoa‘, and even Lil B the Based God (coming soon).
Last night, singer-songwriter Tahliah Debrett Barnett (better known by “FKA Twigs”) performed for a sold out crowd at The Metro in Chicago, IL. On tour in promotion of her debut and highly acclaimed album LP1, FKA Twigs gave fans a stunning and brilliant 13-song set. The show was kicked off by an opening performance from producer-singer Boots (the man highly responsible for Beyonce’s latest self-titled album) and ended with a promise from FKA to come back to Chicago soon.
