Two legends in music, Sting and Peter Gabriel, have teamed up for a huge North American tour. Dubbed the “Rock Paper Scissors Tour”, Gabriel and The Police frontman will hit a number of stops throughout North America, including a July 10th performance at Milwaukee’s Summerfest. But unlike your normal game of Rock Paper Scissors, where you have a 1 out of 3 chance in winning, this version of RPS lets everyone come out victorious.
Speaking on the tour, Gabriel said “what intrigues me is that you get a good bunch of musicians together and interesting things will happen.” Sting also added that he thinks “people will be intrigued.” And with the lineup alone, no matter what the two decide to do with the tour, we have no reason to doubt that fans will be intrigued on all sorts of levels. The tour will kick off June 21st in Columbus and will hit 19 stops total until the tour concludes in Edmonton, Alberta on July 24th.

Week 2 of Round 2 of Kanye West’s highly anticipated GOOD Fridays is finally here, and despite a brief (3 day) delay this week definitely delivered. Following the release of his ‘Real Friends’ record, which was loved by critics and fans alike, this week Kanye blessed us all with the full version of his Kendrick Lamar collaboration ‘No More Parties in LA’.
Kanye’s new album Swish, his first LP since his game-changing 2013 album Yeezus, is only a few weeks away. And if Ye’s first two GOOD Friday tracks of 2016 are indication of what the new album sounds like, then we cannot wait for February 11th.
Last night Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band kicked off the new tour, in support of the release of their critically acclaimed album, The River. And while Bruce and company gave the crowd an unforgettable performance into the late hours of the night, performing at Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center, Springsteen also took the time to pay a special tribute to the late great David Bowie. Covering Bowies 1974 record, ‘Rebel Rebel’, The Boss definitely honored Bowie in a special way.

Tonight rapper G-Eazy brought his When It’s Dark Out Tour to the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL. With a wild and crazy sell out crowd on hand, G-Eazy brought A$AP Ferg, Marc E. Bassy and more to the Windy City. While his 2014 and 2015 From The Bay To The Universe Tour was one of our favorites last year, G stepped up all aspects of his tour this time around. From its production value to the upgrades in venues, the When It’s Dark Out Tour is G-Eazy’s best yet, by far.
Opening the night was rapper Nef The Pharaoh, with singer Marc E. Bassy (formerly of 2AM Club) soon to follow. Nef and Marc both held their own, and while most fans were familiar with the two from their affiliation with G-Eazy, don’t be surprised if soon enough both artists are headlining tours of their own. Just last year, fans were introduced to the talents of Kehlani on G-Eazy’s last tour, and today Kehlani is a Grammy nominated artist and one of the top emerging singers in the R&B and rap worlds.

Next up was A$AP Ferg, the second biggest member of the A$AP Mob. While A$AP Rocky is still the face of the A$AP Mob, Ferg is no longer in the shadows of Rocky. In his set tonight alone, Chicago fans were reminded of the many Ferg hits that we have all bumped in the past couple years. And despite the great energy that A$AP Ferg brought to his set, the highlight of his performance came when he slowed things down to pay tribute to the late A$AP Yams.
Despite the talents of all of those before him, there was just one artist on the bill that gave reason to the huge sell out crowd, and that of course was none other than the Bay Area’s G-Eazy. As the screams began to amplify, G-Eazy emerged with his track ‘Random’ from his latest LP, the similarly titled, When It’s Dark Out. Kicking the night off with a number of records from his new album, things did not stop there. G-Eazy performed a 90-minute set, full of the new and the old, singles and B-sides, all-in-all something for everyone.

Show-by-show, tour-by-tour, G-Eazy’s fan base and following seems to grow exponentially. A rapper with a James Dean appeal, who spits personal lyrics that reach a variety of listeners. Like rappers do, G-Eazy will rap about fucking your bitch (a warning shot to any guy who brings his girlfriend to a G-Eazy concert), but with the next song G will break things down and give you a raw and emotional look into his darkest moments.
From the moment G got on stage until he said goodbye to the Chicago crowd after his memorable encore, the night’s energy never dropped off. And unless you’re at the after party with G-Eazy right now, it’s time to recover… after what was an amazing and wild performance.

Macklemore took to social media today to announce his new album. Titled This Unruly Mess I’ve Made, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will release their highly anticipated follow up to 2012 album The Heist, on February 26th. With a huge new tour, a new album, and even some festival appearances along the way, 2016 marks another year that will be dominated by duo that is Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.
In a message to fans about the new LP, Macklemore wrote:
“I couldn’t escape. I’d been escaping the whole time. I had to finally look. Look at the mess we had made. In all its lacquered glory and its tarnished failures. Sare at it. Understand it. And then leave. I was too comfortable. Being comfortable is what kills artists.”

Another two headliners for the World’s Biggest Music Festival Summerfest, have been announced. Co-headling the big gig in Milwaukee on July 9th this year will be alternative rockers Panic! at the Disco and Weezer, at the festival’s Marcus Amphitheater Stage. Also joining the bands will be openers, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness.
Tickets to the show (which include admission to the general festival grounds) will be available at 10 AM on January 22nd at the Summerfest box office or via Ticketmaster.com. The bands now join Selena Gomez, Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan as the festivals announced headliners thus far. The full lineup is expected to release in late March.
Today iHeartMedia announced the return of its huge iHeartRadio music festival in Las Vegas. Taking place this year on September 23rd and 24th, also returning with the festival will be its Daytime Village and Macy’s “iHeartRadio Rising Star” talent search. And while the full lineup for the mega festival will release at some point in the future, iHeartRadio is giving us a sneak peak at the lineup with the announcement of its first two performers, two of the biggest emerging acts in music, Alessia Cara and country music’s Sam Hunt who will perform at the festival’s Daytime Village portion.
Last year’s lineup was epic, with featured performers like Kanye West, Coldplay, Sam Smith, Demi Lovato, Puff Daddy, The Weeknd, Lil Wayne, Fall Out Boy, Disclosure, Hozier, Jason Derulo, Diplo, Trey Songz, Nick Jonas, Jennifer Lopez, The Killers and many more, so if 2016’s lineup is even half as great, it will definitely be a night to remember.
Tickets for the Daytime Village go on sale today at 10 AM PT, which start at $39 (plus taxes and fees). As for tickets to the big event, ticket information and a full lineup will be announced later this summer, so stay tuned!
Milwaukee singer Lex Allen is easily one of the most exciting artists out of Chicago’s sister to the North. With an amazing and beautiful voice, that can be best paralleled to that of John Legend, but with a complete style of his own, Allen is not only immensely talented but the bravery he shows through the sexuality in his music, while crossing genres with a historically unaccepting style of music, is without a doubt unmatched even in 2016. His raw talent mixed with his honesty makes him one our favorite artists to watch in the new year.
Allen’s new record is no exception to all the things that make him great. ‘Cream and Sugar’, which is produced by Q the Sun and assisted by a verse from the equally talented Milwaukee artist Webster X, is a catchy track that is sure to get you to sing along. With visuals directed by Cody LaPlant, the track and music video together demonstrate the vast creativity from New Age Narcissism, a Milwaukee collective with three of its members on this record alone (Allen, Webster X, Q the Sun).

If you didn’t think the return of Dirt Nasty was truly here, you couldn’t be more wrong. First Dirt and Mickey Avalon announced that they squashed beef to reunite for their ‘Netflix and Chill’ record. Soon after followed the announcement of their Married to the Game EP, as well as a huge U.S. tour that kicked off just the other day. And now Dirt has given fans of his solo music a couple extra treats.
Releasing in a week on January 22nd, Dirt Nasty is releasing his new project, Dirt Nasty Sux. And to promote the forthcoming 8-track album, produced by Jay E, Dirt has released its first single ‘Crispy Baby’. Speaking on the new record, Dirt told fans “I’ve always been a crispy baby, but now it’s time I share it with the world. Enjoy the baby crispiness.”

“Billy Joel sells more tickets per year at Wrigley Field than the Chicago Cubs,” is a joke I would make if the Cubs were still a horrible baseball team. But either way, Billy Joel sure does play Wrigley Field a ton, and will huge sell out crowds. In fact, not other artist has ever performed at Wrigley Field more than Billy Joel. However the Piano Man isn’t letting his record stop at four Wrigley performances, as this year Billy Joel will perform at the historic baseball field for a fifth time, extending his record by one.
