Last night, English alt-rock band, The 1975, brought their big headlining North American tour to Milwaukee, WI. Returning The Rave for another sold-out performance, this time Matthew Healey and company were joined by Colouring and Pale Waves who both delivered great opening performances which set the tone for the rest of the night.
The 1975 opened the night with their self-titled and opening track from the band’s most recent LP, I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It, an album the band has been consistently touring in support of since its 2016 release. The ‘Somebody Else’ group continued with the album’s next tracks, ‘Love Me’ and ‘UGH!’, the first two singles from the acclaimed project. The night wasn’t all about The 1975’s sophomore album though, as the Manchester natives also performed a number of singles and fan favorites from their 2013 debut.
While the performance was memorable from start to finish, personal highlights from the night include the band’s performances of ‘Girls’ and ‘Somebody Else’. And with a sold-out crowd desperately wanting more, even after a 17-song set, Matt Healey and his band returned to the stage for an encore performance of ‘If I Believe You’, ‘The Sound’ and of course ‘Chocolate’, a track which the night wouldn’t have been complete without.
With a total of 20 songs performed for their Wisconsin fans, the night was complete, and fans left with instant memories of a performance that they will not soon forget.
