The best and brightest of this past week in music, as well as a throwback track! Hopefully you can bump these tracks on your way to work to brighten up your Monday mornings. This week we have new music from Rihanna, Kanye West, WebsterX, Lana Del Rey and more!
Now Kanye is not only the first, but also the second, rapper to ever do a song with The Beatles’ legendary frontman Paul McCartney, as the two have combined talents with the lovely Rihanna for her track ‘FourFiveSeconds’. The song is available now on iTunes and was released via Roc Nation and Rihanna’s Westbury Road Entertainment company.
Lil Wayne is very sorry for the wait yet again, as he has given fans another mixtape in anticipation of a forthcoming and delayed album this week. We don’t know when Tha Carter V is coming, as it was originally scheduled for a 2014 release, but at least we have Sorry 4 The Wait 2 to tide us over. Check out S4TW2 feature with Drake above and download the full tape here.
Rap fans know producer Emile Haynie from his work with Kanye, Kid Cudi and Eminem but many know him for his contributions on Lana Del Rey’s debut album Born To Die, producing some of its best tracks like ‘Blue Jeans’, ‘Born To Die’, ‘Off to the Races’ and more. Now he is putting out his debut solo album, We Fall (scheduled for a February 24th release), and is having artists return favors to help contribute to the album. This week fans got We Fall‘s third track, titled “Wait For Life” which is a beautiful track where Emile again teams up with the lovely Lana Del Rey. Stream the track above.
Milwaukee normally isn’t a hub for great hip-hop, but this week Milwaukee’s own WebsterX released the amazing visuals for his track ‘Doomsday’. Check out the video above!
This week’s throwback is one of the best Hov rapped and Kanye produced tracks to date, Jay-Z’s 2003 The Black Album track ‘Lucifer’.
