Mike Posner and Blackbear have teamed up for their new band, “mansionz”. A collaboration that the two teased earlier this year, the exciting duo have also dropped their first single, ‘stfu’.

Mansionz isn’t the only thing exciting for Posner this month either, as the ‘Cooler Than Me’ artist has also received a “Song of the Year” nomination for the 59th annual Grammy awards, for his comeback single ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’. But today, it is all about mansionz, as minutes ago Posner hosted a Facebook Live Q&A with fans, where he jokingly over-promoted the new collaboration, answering “mansionz” to practically every question, no matter what the topic. We don’t know what will come next for mansionz, whether an album, EP, tour or anything in between, so be sure to stay tuned.

Listen to mansionz first single, ‘stfu’ below.

Last night, Mike Posner returned to his roots, performing a headlining set for a college crowd at the Majestic Theatre in Madison, Wisconsin, a venue Mike first performed at seven years ago while he himself was still a college student. A lot has happened since then. Not only does Posner have bragging rights over his University of Wisconsin fans, as his Duke Blue Devil defeated the Wisconsin Badgers in 2014’s NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship, but Posner’s sound has completely transformed since he first stepped stage at the Majestic in 2009.

To speed you up on what’s happened since Mike’s last visit to the Majestic; members of his 2009 opener 2AM Club have since parted ways and the band’s lead, Marc E. Bassy, is now a solo artist whose G-Eazy-assisted debut single ‘You & Me’ is currently climbing the charts, Mike became a household name in music, practically overnight, with the success of his record ‘Cooler Than Me’, he released his 2010 debut LP, 31 Minutes To Takeoff, and after an extended hiatus in his solo career where he passed time writing and producing hit records for Justin Bieber (‘Boyfriend’) and Maroon 5 (‘Sugar’), Posner is back with his sophomore LP, At Night, Alone., and its lead single, ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’.

And even though Mike Posner is currently on a huge arena tour in support of Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato, tonight’s headlining performance seemed extra special. We have caught Posner on the road twice this summer, once with the Future Now Tour and once with the B96 Pepsi Summer Bash, both times providing great performances to get the night started on the right foot. Posner surrounds himself with talented musicians and together his band puts on a hell of a show, mixing his new records with the old. Even if you’re only getting less than 10 records with a supporting set, Posner and his band are worth the price of admission. But with tonight’s headlining show, in an environment that Posner has flourished in since his days at Duke University, fans certainly got their money’s worth.

Kicking off the night tonight was Posner’s friend, collaborator and writing partner, Adam Friedman. Whether fans tonight knew Friedman from his 2016 single, ‘Lemonade’, his opening impromptu sets on Posner’s Ninja Show Tour last year, or whether tonight was their first dose of the Santa Montica singer/songwriter, Friedman delivered for Madison. Performing his records ‘Stronger’ and ‘Gravity’, his cover of The Chainsmokers and Halsey’s new single ‘Closer’, and a few other songs to showcase his voice at the Majestic Theatre, Friedman definitely picked up some new fans in Madison tonight.

Soon after Friedman stepped off stage, it was time for Mike Posner and his band to greet the Wisconsin crowd. And although there is a lot of animosity towards anything Duke-related, ever since the Badgers’ tragic National Championship loss, all was forgiven when Mike opened with his At Night, Alone. record, ‘Buried In Detroit’. Posner and his band then continued their set with performances of ‘Be As You Are’, ‘In the Arms of a Stranger’ and ‘Jade’. Throughout the night, Posner performed an extended set, switching back and forth between records from At Night, Alone. and his early work, which not only includes his debut album but his early mixtapes, which first made Posner a local favorite on the college campus.

But just as you thought his set was winding down, it was only getting started, as Posner promised fans that it would be his band’s best show yet. The rest of the night was full of highlights; from Mike climbing into the balcony, performing in the crowd, taking cellphones from the crowd and recording a fan’s Facebook Live stream, inviting Adam Friedman back on-stage for a performance of ‘Lemonade’, and overall getting the crowd especially hyped. Posner promised fans a performance to remember, and with his supporting cast, he delivered.

Whether you jumped on the bandwagon this past year with the success of ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ or you were a fan from the very beginning, when Posner was still an undergrad like most of the fans in attendance tonight, the Michigan-native delivered high energy and a setlist that all types of Mike Posner fans enjoyed. Do yourself a favor and check Mike Posner’s remaining tour dates at MikePosner.com.

Demi Lovato & Nick Jonas Bring the Future Now Tour to Chicago

Last night pop superstars Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato brought their Future Now Tour to Chicago’s Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL. With support from At Night, Alone singer/songwriter Mike Posner, Honda Civic’s 2016 tour is another dream pop music lineup, and Windy City fans got to see it all come to life last night. From Posner’s opening performances of ‘Cooler Than Me’ and ‘I Took a Pill In Ibiza’ to Nick Jonas’ performances of ‘Chains’ and ‘Levels’, and finally to Demi Lovato’s performances of ‘Confident’, ‘Cool For The Summer’ and more, even the security guard heard a catalog of hits that they knew every word to.

The night started off with an energetic performance from singer/songwriter/producer Mike Posner. Known originally for his fan favorite mixtapes that he released while attending college at Duke University, Mike Posner has come a long way as an artist. Originally the Detroit native found his way into music by producing music for others, and after his initial commercial success due to a remix of his track ‘Cooler Than Me’, Posner again returned to contributing to other artists’ careers, penning songs for Justin Bieber (‘Boyfriend’) and Maroon 5 (‘Sugar’), scrapping albums and putting the release of his own music on hold. However Posner is back, sharing his own music with fans, and you can tell he is having the time of his life doing it. Mike Posner has again been embraced by pop radio with ‘I Took a Pill In Ibiza’, from his new sophomore LP, At Night, Alone, and his energetic opening performance last night shows us that he still loves performing the songs that brought him up while also sharing his new tracks as well.

Next up was co-headliner Nick Jonas. Jonas kicked things off with his hit single, ‘Levels’, which instantly got the packed arena on their feet. Throughout the night Nick Jonas performed some of his biggest records, including ‘Jealous’ and ‘Chains’, as well as some new records, including his addictive track ‘Champagne Problems’. Jonas put on a great set of his own, but even after he stepped off stage, it wouldn’t be the last we would see of him for the night.

As Jonas’ set ended, Demi Lovato’s began. Opening with some huge records like ‘Confident’ and ‘Heart Attack’, Lovato took no time in reminding fans just how big her music is. Lovato didn’t just stick to the hits however, as she still found time to fit in some memorable performances of some of her B-side records. Then, more than halfway into her headlining set, it was time for Lovato to invite her co-headliner Nick Jonas back onto the stage. The night wouldn’t have been complete without the two joining forces live for Chicago. Jonas and Lovato performed her record ‘Stone Cold’ as well as Jonas’ Tove Lo collaboration ‘Close’, a definite highlight of the night. As Lovato continued her set, later closing the night with her hit single ‘Cool For The Summer’, the night came to an end but not without a number of memories made for Lovato and Jonas’ biggest fans.

Photos: The B96 Pepsi Summer Bash Brings Ariana Grande, Calvin Harris & More to Chicago

Hours ago, pop superstar Ariana Grande stepped off stage at Chicago’s Allstate Arena for another great year of the B96 Pepsi Summer Bash. With some awesome performances from the biggest names in music, the packed crowd in Rosement, IL also saw sets from Meghan Trainor, EDM superstar Calvin Harris, Mike Posner, Charlie Puth, Daya and Bebe Rexha. Whether it was it was one of earlier sets from an emerging name in pop, or one of the night’s headlining sets, everyone from top to bottom delivered for the Windy City.

Kicking things off for the night in her Chicago Cubs jersey was 17-year-old singer, Daya. Although she is new to the game, she already has three big singles in constant rotation. Whether it’s her debut single ‘Hide Away’, her empowering anthem ‘Sit Still, Look Pretty’, or her Chainsmokers collaboration, ‘Don’t Let Me Down’, Daya is killing it, even before her high school graduation. Following Daya’s opening performance was the talented Bebe Rexha. Although she is still making a name for herself as a performer, you know more about the New York native than you think. She has written for a number of big artists in the past, including Eminem and Rihanna’s hit single ‘Monster’, but now if you ask her, the G-Eazy collaborator would tell you she’s focused on “me, myself and I.” Rexha isn’t far removed from her last performance at the Allstate, where she opened for singer Ellie Goulding, and as always she put on a memorable performance.

Next up was Mike Posner, who has been getting spins on B96 years ago, ever since his breakout single, ‘Cooler Than Me’. Now, many years removed from his debut album and college days, the Duke graduate is currently promoting his new album, At Night, Alone. Opening with a couple records off his new sophomore LP, Mike Posner brought some folk-influenced pop to the Chicago crowd. Although Mike kept it intimate with his album version of his newest hit single, ‘I Took a Pill in Ibiza’, he still found time to get the crowd hype when he took it back for ‘Cooler Than Me’. Fans left wanting more will be able to catch Posner back in the Windy City this August, as he supports Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato on their forthcoming tour.

Following Mike and his guitar was Charlie and his piano, Charlie of course, being singer/songwriter Charlie Puth. Opening with his Meghan Trainor collaboration, ‘Marvin Gaye’, Charlie killed it on the keys. And while his skills on the piano are more than impressive, the night was not about boasting, as Puth had the crowd light up the arena as he dedicated his performance of his #1 record, ‘See You Again’, to all the lives lost in Orlando. Moments later, after Puth said his goodbyes to the Chicago crowd, it was time to rage as Calvin Harris performed his only radio show of 2016. Getting the crowd moving to hit after hit, the highlight of Harris’ performance came as his new Rihanna collaboration, ‘This Is What You Came For’, was blasted throughout the Allstate.

After Calvin Harris and Charlie Puth’s performances, the other half of Puth’s ‘Marvin Gaye’ collaboration, that being Meghan Trainor, stepped on stage. Trainor opened with her most recent single, ‘Me Too’ and closed with her big 2016 record, ‘No’, but the crowd began to erupt as Meghan teased fans by performing a “brand new song that (she) wrote for Chicago”, which was really her smash hit, ‘All About That Bass’.

Soon after Trainor stepped off stage, it was time for the birthday girl, singer Ariana Grande, to bless fans with her headlining performance. Grande, who turned 23 today, gave an extra special performance for Chicago tonight, and it is hard to imagine a better way for her to celebrate her big day. The entire crowd sang Happy Birthday for the ‘Dangerous Woman’ singer as she emerged, and in return she sang a collection of her biggest hits to date, giving the B96 Pepsi Summer Bash an ending to remember.

Friends and collaborators, Adam Friedman and Mike Posner, have teamed up again, this time for Friedman’s new addictive record, ‘Lemonade’. While Friedman solo career is now beginning to emerge, he is no stranger to the music world. Friedman introduced himself to many as he supported Posner on his impromptu “Ninja Show” tour, where the two traveled across the country performing intimate acoustic sets for a number of Posner’s biggest fans. And if ‘Lemonade’ is what we can expect from Friedman’s solo work in the future, than we are more than excited.

If you like what you hear with Friedman’s most recent efforts, you’ll certainly want to check out his record ‘Pretty Things’, the singer’s debut single which he released just a few months ago.

Album Review: At Night, Alone | Mike Posner

At Night, Alone
BY DAN GARCIA

Mike Posner has made his most honest album yet with At Night, Alone. Titled after how the Detroit singer/songwriter tells fans the way the LP should be listened too, Posner certainly took his time for sophomore album. After the release of his 2010 debut, 31 Minutes To Takeoff, which was Posner’s third project in just two years (when you include his 2009 mixtapes which launched the singer/songwriter into the college music scene), Posner’s hiatus between albums even had Frank Ocean fans feeling sympathetic. And with the great success of Posner’s breakout single, ‘Cooler Than Me’, and a number of scrapped projects, fans began to wonder if they had seen the last of Mike Posner.

Fortunately for fans, Mike Posner shed any doubts that he could escape the “one hit wonder” title with the success of his single, ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’. Like the success of ‘Cooler Than Me’, Mike Posner’s second breakout single did not see it’s success overnight. Both tracks were available for many months before an upbeat club mix came in to save the day for the record’s commercial success. While I personally enjoy and prefer the OG versions of both records, the remixes were a smart move and much needed to share Posner’s music with a broader audience. And not only is ‘I Took a Pill In Ibiza’ on par with the success Posner saw in 2010, but the record landed him his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Pop Music charts.

New Music: Mike Posner Recruits Big Sean for “Buried In Detroit”, Releases Lyric Video

Mike Posner and Big Sean have been our favorite rapper-singer collaboration for many years. Great friends and collaborators well before Big Sean hooked up with Kanye West’s GOOD Music or before Mike Posner hit it big with the club remix of his single ‘Cooler Than Me’, which featured a young Big Sean on the original version, the two are a great team. This time Mike and Sean have teamed up once again, for a rework of Mike Posner’s The Truth record, ‘Buried In Detroit’.

Similar to the rework of his 2015 track, ‘I Took A Pill In Ibizia’, which like ‘Cooler Than Me’ rose up on the Billboard charts with an upbeat remix, ‘Buried In Detroit’ does not have as much club appeal as Posner’s previous singles, but in not doing so it perfectly captures the folk character of the original cut. Add a verse from fellow Detroit native Big Sean, and you have yourself another great record. You’ll be able to find this one on Posner’s highly anticipated sophomore LP, At Night, Alone, which releases next Friday, May 6th.

Check out the lyric video for ‘Buried In Detroit’ below.

Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato’s forthcoming Future Now Tour just got that much better. Joining the pop singers on their huge summer tour will be ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ singer/producer Mike Posner. Posner is just weeks away from his sophomore album, At Night, Alone, his highly anticipated followup from his 2010 debut album, and fans could not be more excited. Posner is notorious for his energetic college campus performances, so we can only imagine what he can do with entire arenas.
