Rapper Leaf has announced that she will be supporting ‘Here’ singer Alessia Cara on her upcoming U.S. tour. Fool’s Gold‘s most exciting new artist, the New York native will be performing in support of her breakout EP, Magnet Bitch. Already one of our most anticipated tours of the new year, Alessia and Leaf on a single lineup is certainly a show that you won’t want to miss.
The U.S. leg of the Know-It-All tour will kick off on January 22nd in Boston, and will hit a number of stops (including Chicago) before the tour concludes February 12th in Los Angeles. You can get your tickets here before they are all sold out!
Don’t worry Big Apple, Indio may be over a two thousand miles away but Coachella is coming to a city near you! Well kinda… Earlier today, Goldenvoice, the masterminds behind America’s premiere music festival Coachella, announced that their new music festival Panorama is officially coming to New York City. The new festival will take place at Randall’s Island Park from July 22-24, the same location of The Governors Ball.
It should come as no surprise that The Governors Ball was not happy when news of another big music festival in New York started to fly around, and they likely aren’t happy to hear that “Coachella East” will officially take place at the exact same park just weeks after their festival. The work isn’t totally cut out for Panorama though as The Governors Ball has one hell of a lineup this year, including a headlining performance from Kanye West, so if Panorama wants to take the title as New York’s best festival, they will need to have the lineup to go with it.

So far today has been a huge day for music festivals. While here in Chicago temperatures reach zero, summer music festivals like Coachella, Sasquatch and now Bonnaroo have all shared big news of their own. First Sasquatch revealed their 2016 lineup which had some huge names like The Cure, Florence & The Machine, Disclosure, Alabama Shakes, Major Lazer and more. Next up, Coachella promoters (Goldenvoice) announced that Coachella East (actually titled Panorama) will officially be coming to New York City. Now competing with The Governors Ball, Panorama will surely have a packed lineup in its first year.
Last but not least, Tennessee’s premiere music festival Bonnaroo made a major announcement today. Switching up their lineup announcement process this year, The Farm’s 2016 announcement will be announced live on January 19th on TBS’s Conan. So come 11/10 CT next week, definitely be sure to tune in!

While walking the red carpet for the 73rd annual Golden Globe award, Wiz Khalifa dropped some major news about his forthcoming album, Khalifa. According to the man himself, who was nominated tonight for his Charlie Puth collaboration ‘See You Again’ (the first ever Golden Globe nom for the “Fast & Furious” franchise), his new album will release this month on January 22nd. Khalifia will be the follow up to Wiz’s Blacc Hollywood album, and another release from his Taylor Gang label.
Wiz Khalifa just said his album is dropping January 22nd on the red carpet of the Golden Globes.
Rapper/singer Anderson .Paak new album Malibu is only a few days away (January 15th) and today we have a new track from the forthcoming LP. Titled ‘Come Down’, .Paak’s flow on the new record can’t be touched and it has us very excited for his new project.
Anderson .Paak hit the radar of many, despite making music for years, in 2015 when he played a major role in Dr. Dre’s critically acclaimed comeback album, Compton. Knowing how .Paak makes the artists around him better, it will be interesting to see how good of a solo project that the California native will put out next week, while taking the wheel all himself.
Last night, country music’s Dustin Lynch literally brought one hell of a night to the Windy City. Joined by singer-songwriter and North Carolina-native Chris Lane and ‘Radio’ singer Tyler Rich, Lynch brought a great bill of talent to Joe’s on Weed Street for back-to-back nights of the “Hell of a Night” tour in Chicago. Lynch is touring in support of his second and latest album, Where It’s At, which debuted at #1 on iTunes Country Music Album Charts, led by his platinum-certified title track and #1 single, ‘Hell of a Night’.
Kicking off the night was singer Tyler Rich, perhaps known best for his 2014 single ‘Radio’ which introduced Rich to many last year. While the Sacramento native doesn’t have as big of a catalog to perform from as Lynch, Rich certainly held his own while warming up the crowd. Tyler Rich will definitely be a name to watch in the new year.
Next up was another hot emerging act in country music, singer Chris Lane. Lane put himself on the radar of many with the success of his infectious single ‘Fix’, which broke the record for the most single week adds from a debut male artist in Country Aircheck history. Lane has some huge co-signs from country music’s biggest superstars, including Florida Georgia Line, Brett Eldredge, Cole Swindell and of course Dustin Lynch, and despite being relatively new to the game, the iHeartRadio Rising Star finalist is getting a lot of praise for pushing the boundaries of country music. After seeing Lane perform live for his Chicago fans, it’s no surprise that the record breaking singer is receiving a lot of praise and success.
While Lane and Rich gave their all for the Chicago crowd, the man of the night, of one hell of a night, was set to perform. When Lynch hit the stage, the crowd’s volume was at its max level up until that point, but the energy levels only increased throughout the headlining performance. Performing a mix of his biggest hits from his 2014 and self-titled debut LPs, including songs like ‘Where It’s At’, ‘Cowboys and Angels’ and ‘Hell of a Night’, a lot of the highlights of the night probably came when Lynch performed some of his B-side records. A personal favorite moment of the night though, was when Lynch performed his newest single ‘Mind Reader’, another exciting single from his latest album that is sure to be a favorite for country music fans. From beginning to end, Lynch gave a performance Friday night that will not be soon forgotten.
If you missed Lynch’s two night residency at Joe’s, don’t worry because the ‘Where It’s At’ singer still has plenty of stops left on his tour until it concludes on May 14th in Oklahoma City. Get your tickets here now before it’s too late. And if you’re in Chicago and missed out, or you want to relive Thursday and Friday’s performances, Lynch will be back at Joe’s next month when he helps support a great cause while performing in support of Chicago Blackhawks star defensemen Duncan Keith’s Keith Relief benefit concert.
Check out some of Ariana LaBarrie’s photos of Dustin Lynch’s Chicago performance below!
Last month, Lupe Fiasco fans were blessed as the Chicago rapper announced that he would be releasing three new albums all in 2016. Titled DROGAS, SKULLS, and ROY, all three projects (with DROGAS expected first) will keep Lupe’s fans more than happy this year, however with this good news soon came some bad news.
Taking to Twitter, Lupe announced that ROY (the third album of his upcoming 2016 trilogy) will unfortunately be his last. So while fans will get a ton of new music from the ‘Kick Push’ rapper this year, if all goes as scheduled, it will mark Fiasco’s retirement as well. This isn’t to say that Lupe will stop making music with others or will stop touring, but it certainly has left a lot of his biggest fans disappointed.
GOOD Fridays are back in 2016! And to get things back started with a bang, this week gives us two new awesome tracks from Kanye West. The new records, titled ‘Real Friends’ and ‘No More Parties in LA’ are exactly what we have been waiting for from Kanye. ‘No More Parties in LA’ also brings us a highly anticipated collaboration between Kanye and Kendrick Lamar, who first linked up when Ye invited Kendrick on his critically acclaimed Yeezus Tour.
New collabs with Sia, the return of GOOD Fridays, and headlining The Governors Ball, Yeezy season is officially back! Unfortunately though, the version of ‘No More Parties in LA’ that Kanye released on Soundclound (which has since been deleted) is just a sample, of what may be one of the best records that rap will see in 2016.
Listen to “Real Friends” and “No More Parties in LA” here.
