Photos: Daryl Hall & John Oates Bring their Summer Tour to Madison’s Breese Stevens Field

Dreams came true in Madison, WI on Sunday night as the Breese Steven Field closed out their summer concert lineup with none other than the legendary John Hall and Daryl Oates. Despite some unexpected rain, the evening was everything fans wanted and more with Hall & Oates delivering memorable performances from their extensive catalog of hits.

Opening their headlining set with two beloved records, ‘Maneater’ and ‘Out of Touch’, both classics from the ’80s that still get their share of plays in 2019, Hall & Oates continued throughout their 4-decade discography until closing their set on a high note with ‘I Can’t Go For That’. Even in their 70s, Hall & Oates didn’t miss a beat and sound as good as ever.

With fans still wanting more, Hall & Oates returned for one of the best encore performances you’ll ever see, as the pop rock duo said goodbye with performances of ‘Rich Girl’, ‘Kiss on My List’, ‘Private Eyes’ and ‘You Make My Dreams’. When one group’s encore has bigger hits than most artists’ entire body of work, it says a lot about the quality of their music. There was no better place to be than Madison last night.

Jennifer Lopez Brings the Party to Milwaukee’s Summerfest

BY TER STAFF

Milwaukee was in for a treat on Wednesday night as Jennifer Lopez brought her huge “It’s My Party” tour to Summerfest’s headlining American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Joined by a number of the world’s best dance crews, who delivered a diverse array of dances to warm up the stage, Jenny from the Block put on a performance that her Wisconsin fans won’t soon forget.

Things kicked off on Wednesday with J-Lo’s 2019 track “Medicine”. Giving Milwaukee a dose of her French Montana-assisted record, Lopez emerged in the sky while dropping from the amphitheater’s newly raised roof from a giant and sparkly ring. Instantly the focus of the packed crowd was torn. Should your eyes get drawn to the tour’s impressive production, the large cast of backup dancers, J-Lo’s moves of her own, or her collection of sexy outfits which she changed more times than we can count? In short, fans paid focus on all the above which made for one huge experience.

Next up came just the first of many of J-Lo’s hit singles, with a performance of “Love Don’t Cost a Thing”, which was soon followed by two more stand out records, 2001’s “Get Right” and her Cardi B-assisted “Dinero”. Lopez spliced the new with the old, shaking her tail feather and defying all conventional understandings about how human beings are supposed to age. While 49 is far from old, the fact that Jennifer Lopez has never looked or moved better is unbelievable.

Throughout the performance, Lopez performed over 20 tracks from her 20-year-career, and with unique live performances that extended some of her featured records, her set even seemed to be larger than that. The night wasn’t dragging on however, as each outfit and act from the night was wildly different than the one before it, keeping the audiences attention and keeping her fans guessing and on their feet. Fans had been waiting for tonight, and were in no hurry to leave.

After a number of highlights, including a sexy dance performance on a lucky fan and an even luckier chaise loungue chair, a gravity defying Sara Bareilles cover and a segment of Spanish langue tracks to pay love to her Hispanic fans, J-Lo ended the night on a high note with a Miami-inspired dance party set to performances of two of her biggest hits, “Waiting for Tonight” and “On The Floor”, before taking a final bow after a memorable night.

It may not come anytime soon, but Milwaukee already can’t wait for Jennifer Lopez’s return!

Check out the set list from J-Lo’s Summerfest performance below.
