Summer has come and gone but that doesn’t mean you have to put your live music fix on hold, as the Windy City will host a number of amazing concerts this fall.
From Elton John’s farewell tour, to the awesome due of Sting & Shaggy and of course a massive stadium show with Ed Sheeran, there are plenty of concerts that you won’t want to miss in October.

Ed Sheeran w/ Snow Patrol & Lauv @ Soldier Field (October 4th)
Ed Sheeran is bringing one of the biggest shows of the entire year to Chicago this month with his headlining ÷ Tour. This is one you’ll want to get to early too, as Irish alt-rock band Snow Patrol and emerging ‘I Like Me Better’ artist Lauv will join Ed for his Chicago date. Sheeran has moved his tour from arenas to stadiums, so this will be his biggest Chicago show to date, and needless to say you won’t want to miss out. Justin Timberlake @ United Center (October 5th)
Justin Timberlake already blessed the Windy City with two shows at the United Center earlier this year, but Chicago hasn’t had enough of him so the ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ pop star is returning to the historic venue for a third visit. Whether you attended the last performances or you haven’t had the opportunity yet, you won’t want to miss the chance to hear Timberlake perform cuts from his new LP and of course his huge catalog of hits. Sting & Shaggy @ Aragon Ballroom (October 2nd)
Name a better duo touring right now than Sting and Shaggy, I’ll wait… Although the two teaming up may seem unlikely to some, with The Police’s reggae influences, Shaggy couldn’t compliment Sting any better. Dubbed The 44/876 Tour, after their new collaborative album, you won’t want to miss this show, at one of the city’s most beautiful venues, the Aragon Ballroom. J Balvin @ Allstate Arena (October 12th)
Colombian reggaton singer J Balvin is one of the biggest names in the entire world right now. With recent collabs with Beyonce and Cardi B, Balvin has dominated pop radio this past year and he is showing no signs of stopping. So you can bet that he’ll deliver all the hits when he pays a visit to the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL, as part of his headlining Vibras Tour on October 12th. Elton John @ United Center (October 26th & 27th)
Elton John is currently on his enormous farewell tour, and lucky for Chicago, fans will have plenty of chances to see Sir Elton for their final time. Before returning to the Windy City’s Allstate Arena, Elton John will first say goodbye to Chicago with two shows at the United Center, on October 26th and 27th. Fleetwood Mac @ United Center (October 6th)
Cancel your plans on October 6th and spend An Evening with Fleetwood Mac. After opening the tour this week in Tulsa, the band will make their second tour stop at the United Center this weekend. It’s unclear whether this will be a true farewell tour, but you won’t want to risk it, so be sure to see the British-American icons live while you have the chance. Foo Fighters @ Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee (October 17th)
We’re breaking the rules a little for this one, but it’s well worth it! If you saw the Foo Fighters are Wrigley this summer, then you know why, so get in the car and drive 90 miles north to catch the Foo Fighters bring their acclaimed Concrete And Gold Tour to Milwaukee’s brand new Fiserv Forum. Eagles @ United Center (October 15th)

Metallica @ Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee (October 16th)
Breaking our rule one more time, we recommend you take the drive up I-94 to Milwaukee to catch Metallica’s performance at the new Fiserv Forum. Metallica blew fans away at Soldier Field in 2017, so you can relive that night in a more intimate setting, while checking out the band’s awesome new set design. As part of their mega WorldWired Tour, Metallica’s Milwaukee performance is one that Wisconsin and Illinois residents alike will not want to miss out on. Phil Collins @ United Center (October 22nd)
The United Center is staying very busy this month! Not only do the Blackhawks and Bulls kick off their seasons this month, but the venue is hosting a huge lineup of concerts. One more of those concerts is with the legendary Phil Collins on October 22nd. Nine Inch Nails @ Aragon Ballroom (October 25-27th)
