‘Submission Showcase’ is a weekly column where we go through songs submitted to us and showcase the best ones. If you’d like to submit music to us, find out how to here.
Tiny Rhymes – “Arrow”
Kicking off this week’s submissions is ‘Arrow’, a new cut from some very nice people who live in Buffalo, and make indie-folk music. There’s a nice use of what I think is either a glockenspiel or a xylophone, as well as some great strings which come in to create such a wonderful atmosphere in this track. Some great vocals too (whoever sung this, I’ll come to Buffalo and spud you). Take a listen below, and while you’re at it, check out the rest of their catalog – they’re so good!
Luca Chesney – “u” (Kendrick Lamar Re-Write)
New York-based singer-songwriter Luca Chesney hits us with a re-write of Kendrick Lamar’s ‘u’. It goes from an ambient production, with Luca’s own verse, to an almost-jazzy piece featuring an incredibly sung hook. Very hard to describe, and so lovely to listen to at the same time. Check it out.

Sy Jones – “Storm”
This is some fire. Sy Jones, an RnB singer from LA, has sent in ‘Storm’, his newest single. For some reason, the beat reminds me of something produced by London On The Track, which Sy rides smoothly, using the 4 minutes of the track to talk about making love, presumably after coming home from a storm. Whew. Listen below.
