The best and brightest of this past week in music, as well as a throwback track! Hopefully you can bump these on the way to work to brighten up your Monday mornings! Make sure to check out our SoundCloud page where we post some of our past songs of the week.
This past week marked the re-return of Eminem, a rapper who always puts on for his city. He did just that with his track ‘Detroit Vs. Everybody’ which features Detroit’s finest (Big Sean, Danny Brown, Royce Da 5’9″, Trick Trick and Dej Loaf). This track it too cold and let us just hope that we see a Chicago Vs. Everybody one day.
A$AP Ferg has been making the case in the past year that he is the best rapper in the A$AP Mob. In promotion of his upcoming mixtape Ferg Forever, Ferg released one of the mixtape’s singles, ‘Doe Active’.
RL Grime is one of the best producer/djs in the hip-hop world, maybe best known for his remix of Chief Keef’s ‘Love Sosa’. Now we have his track with G.O.O.D. Music rapper, Big Sean. This one is titled ‘Kingpin’.
Les Sins (Chaz Bundick/Toro y Moi) is currently on tour in promotion of his new album Michael. Also in promotion of the album, Chaz recently released his video for ‘Why’ ft. Nate Salman. Stream the track here or check out the link to watch the full video!
Today marks the release of the biggest movie soundtrack of the year, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. The soundtrack, curated by singer Lorde is loaded with amazing features. Potentially the best song on the soundtrack, our last song of the week comes from Stromae and features Lorde, Pusha T and more.
In connection with last Thursday’s Throwback album review, our throwback track of the week comes from 50 Cent’s critically acclaimed freshman album Get Rich Or Die Tryin’.
