Frank Ocean – Terminal 5

“The best concert I’ve ever been to was Frank Ocean at Terminal 5 in New York City. It was about two weeks after Channel Orange came out. It was a Tuesday and I had Drivers’ Ed all the way at the ends of Queens that morning so as soon as it ended I took the bus to the train to another train to get to Manhattan.
I grabbed myself a burger and went to wait on line at around 2 PM. There were maybe 20 people in front of me at that point. Two friends were coming with me but they didn’t show up until around 5 PM. I met these two cool dudes probably in their early to mid-20s (I was 16) and we chopped it up for a while about the album and music in general.
We finally got in around 8, I got some merch and we ended up in around the second row. Frank didn’t come out until like 11 and there were no opening acts but the rest of OF (Tyler, Left Brain, Domo, Earl etc) were up in the balcony messing around with the crowd, it was pretty cool. Once Frank came out it was such an incredible experience. He sounds even better than he did on the record, and he played pretty much the whole album along with Novacane, Summer Remains, American Wedding and maybe a few others off Nostalgia Ultra. I was maybe 15 feet away and we made eye contact which was a pretty cool moment.
Easily the best concert of my young life.” – Mark Paraskevas
