Chief Keef ft. Kanye West – “Nobody”

BY TER STAFF

Listen to Chief Keef’s new song ‘Nobody’ featuring Kanye West. The ’12 Million’ produced track features auto-tuned background vocals from Kanye and may have a familiar sounding beat for many hip-hop fans. The track, which samples Willie Hutch’s ‘Brother’s Gonna Work It Out’, sounds very similar to another recent Chicago rap track which samples the Hutch song in almost the same way, Chance The Rapper’s ‘Lost’. Compare the two tracks below.

One debatable topic in music has resurfaced with today’s release of Rick Ross’ Hood Billionaire album, Ross’ second album release in 2014. While artists like Ross do not let long periods pass before releasing new projects, other artists take noticeable hiatuses between releases, but which model is better for the musician?

Kanye West just may have the best fans in music. Although a Hype Williams directed Yeezus Tour film is coming to theatres, one fan compiled a vast amount of fan footage of different tour dates and angles from Kanye’s most recent tour and created a movie of his own. The KanyeToThe.com user ‘Jediswag’,  describes his film as a project “compiling footage from almost every stop on the Yeezus tour to make one cohesive film. Using professional and gorilla style footage. The film flows beautifully and not a single major aspect of the Yeezus tour goes unnoticed.” While the project will be released on November 28th, the fan made film runs at 2 hours and 19 minutes and is available now for streaming.

The College Dropout
BY DAN GARCIA ★★★★★

On Thursdays we review albums that are considered “classic”. This week it’s the classic album that introduced us to Kanye West, The College Dropout This album is still today considered one of the best, if not the best, freshman albums of all time (up there with Nas’ Illmatic and 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’). This album, released by Roc-A-Fella Records, was the album that people told the young producer that he could never make. Instead however, not only was it pressed, but it was received with wide critical acclaim and gave us classic hip-hop tracks like ‘Jesus Walks’ ‘All Falls Down’ ‘Through the Wire’ and ‘Slow Jamz’.
